Violet J. ‘Tootie’ Stevens Bullion
1933 – 2026
Violet ‘Tootie’ Bullion, 93, of Ashland, died peacefully at her home,
Wednesday morning, September 2nd, while under hospice care. Violet, or Tootie as she was known to most, was born May 25, 1933 in Boyd County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Edgar and Rosa Miranda Scott. She joined Rose Hill Baptist Church in 1956 and was very involved in the Women’s Missionary Union for many years. She taught children’s Sunday School and helped with Bible School many years. She later became a member of Wildwood Baptist Church. Violet was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her first husband, William C. Stevens, Sr. in 1992, and her second husband, John Bullion in 2025. 3 brothers; John, George, and Charles Thomas Scott. 4 sisters; Lenore Blanton, Anna Mae Bradley, Rachel Keatling, Virginia Scott. 6 grandchildren; Jason VanHoose, Jerri Lynn Bostick, Trey Bostick, Jeff Bostick, Steve Sergent, Shawn Sergent, and 2 daughters in law; Nina Jo Stevens and Janie Stevens. Surviving include 2 sons; William Clyde ‘Bud’ Stevens, Jr., and wife Marsha, of Ashland, Kentucky, and Randall E. Stevens of Greenup, Kentucky. 3 daughters; Patricia Bostick of Ashland, Kentucky. Sandy Sergent, and husband Kenny, of Ashland, Kentucky. Pam VanHoose, and husband Dave, of Catlettsburg, Kentucky. 3 sisters; Alberta Vanover of Ashland, Kentucky. Donna Curry of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Nancy Green, and husband Jim, of Raceland, Kentucky. 3 grandchildren; Stephanie Castle, Todd Stevens, Carrie Anna Aeh, and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be Friday, September 4th at 1:00 PM at PRESTON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME by Pastor Tom Leech. Burial will be in the Hutchinson Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 11:00 AM until service time.
