Grateful for a beautiful retreat day last Saturday (a brief glimpse through pics here!), hosted at St. Mary's by Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House - Waverly, NE. The day was filled with prayer with scripture in front of the Blessed Sacrament, quiet moments outside including contemplative time by the Marian Grotto, and conferences from Fr. Gary Coulter. Our parish has been blessed by this opportunity to learn how to pray! Thanks to all who came!

The funeral for St. Joseph's parishioner, Ferd Ortiz, will be Saturday, March 14, at the Newman Center in Lincoln. Details in the obituary. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace!

Our Bible Study leaders hosted SEEK Local last weekend, and it was such a beautiful afternoon! We shared a delicious meal before watching a powerful talk by Fr. Mike Schmitz on the Catholic understanding of death. His message reminded us that death is not something to fear, but a doorway to eternal life—and encouraged us to keep saying “yes” to God as we prepare our hearts for the glory He promises.

Afterward, we gathered in small groups to reflect on the talk and share our thoughts. We ended with a simple but meaningful question: What small thing can we do this week to keep our hearts set on eternal glory in heaven? (A great "check-in" mid-lent!)

Grateful for this time of fellowship, prayer, and growing in trust in the Lord. 🙏
