Christianity seems to be the only religion where we can believe that supernatural events occurred in the past.....

and we can believe supernatural events will occur in the future.....

but if anyone mentions the world may be supernatural TODAY, the church squirms.

Isn't that interesting? Have we ever wondered why this is?

"For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness." 2 Corinthians 11:13-14.

"The greatest trick the devil ever pulled, was convincing the world he didn't exist". Keiser Soze, The Unusual Suspects.

Most churches don’t talk about the supernatural anymore, but ignoring it doesn’t make it go away. The supernatural realm is real, the spiritual battles are real, even if we pretend they're not. If the church won’t talk about the unseen, the world won't stop asking about it, but it will stop turning to the church for answers. We must have them when people come asking.

Join us this Sunday as we open Scripture and face what’s been ignored for far too long: the reality of spiritual evil.

May God our Father, who weaves all things together for good, continue weaving the hearts and minds of His saints into the image and likeness of His Son. Amen.

Inviting people to church isn't about numbers; it's about introducing people to Jesus Christ.

The Apostles preached with urgency because they were trying to save souls from being damned for eternity. They understood no one knew when Jesus was going to return so they were constantly in a race against the clock.....BUT.....

As Jesus has delayed, the Church has lost her sense of urgency. Jesus may not return tomorrow, or in our life time, but someones lifetime is going to run out tomorrow.....were they introduced to Jesus before it did?

"If God is all-powerful. If God is all knowing. If God is all holy....but evil still exists, your God does not exist."

As we approach Sunday, use the time between now and then to consider the second part of this issue on your own. Why evil? Why would a perfect God continue to allow 'evil' to desecrate His creation? Can we think of at least one solid reason (there are several) God may allow, what we consider evil, to continue until Christ returns?

"Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen." Romans 1:24-26

As we deal with the topic of 'evil' we have to remember that no label ever makes someone "good or evil". Just as many righteous acts have been performed by groups outcast by society, just as there have been as many atrocities committed under the banner of Christianity. Evil isn't about race, gender, politics, or other labels; evil is a matter of heart. Are we setting our hearts on the things above and pursuing righteousness? Or are we setting our hearts on the lusts of this world, and pursing evil?

"Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good." Romans 12:9

*Memory Verse Monday*

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Yesterday was reality check for everyone as we asked "what is evil?" The short answer that almost no one wants to hear is that all of humanity contributes to the problem of "evil". Evil is not an impersonal force. Evil is not satan running amuck. 'Evil', as it pertains to the Bible is: the active corruption of what God made good—the willful rebellion of the creature against the Creator, flowing from a heart turned in upon itself rather than toward God.

But the good news, because there is always good news, is we can use this information for the better. When people ask us "Why is there evil?" That's our opportunity to present to Gospel! To explain to people fallen humanity, everyones need for a savior, and then we present that savior- Jesus the Christ! We can assure them with our memory verse for today above.

May God our Father rain His grace, mercy and peace upon all saints gathering today in Jesus name. Amen!
