This message is Holy Spirit inspired. Is this message for you?
I don’t really know how to communicate this message from Christ Jesus because it can affect so many professing Christian’s in an eternal way. So let me just share the word’s from Jesus himself.
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” - Matthew 7:21
Notice Jesus is referring to men and women’s disobedience to our Heavenly Father’s will, His laws, decrees, and precepts. Are you truly doing the will of the Father or are you doing your own will and trying to also proclaim Jesus?
Now let us look at what Jesus said next in Matthew 7:22-23. “On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’”
There are many who profess the name of Jesus, are active in His ministry, but also may be holding onto sin in their hearts. As Followers of Christ, we cannot serve two masters. One cannot serve God and at the same time commit secret sins, which in fact you are serving Satan. Why call Jesus Lord when you do not do what He says and that is to do the will of the Father? Jesus must not be the Lord of your life if you are not all in and have given up all your evil ways.
What are the evil ways I am speaking of, they are any sins you do that causes separation between you and God. Whatever the sin, if you are not all in in following Jesus and doing the will of the Father, you could be in the situation at the Judgement Seat as described in Matthew 7:21-23.
Now let us look at Luke 6:46, “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?” Again Jesus is rebuking those who profess to be His Followers, and yet they do not truly follow Him. They do not do what He says to do, nor do they obey the Father’s will, and they ignore the Father’s laws, precepts, and decree’s. If we are not fully in this relationship, then we are truly not in at all. Calling Jesus Lord is meaningless if you do not obey God. Jesus is asking for us to obey God.
Next, please look at Matthew 15:8-9,
“‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’” Jesus says that if your heart is far from His ways, and His ways are doing the will of the Father, then when you worship God, you are worshipping Him in vain. Your worship is meaningless.
Lastly, look at Matthew 12:50. While Jesus was teaching, His mother and brothers stood outside asking to speak to Him. A man went to Jesus and told Him that his mother and brothers wanted to speak to Him. Jesus replied “who are my mother, and brothers, and sisters?” He then looked at His disciples. Then Jesus made this proclamation as stated in verse 50. “For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” Whoever does the “Will of my Father in Heaven.”
Friends, if we are truly professing to be Christ Jesus Followers, then we must not have any hidden sin in our lives. We must surrender it all to Jesus and we must repent from these sins. Repentance means to turn from the sin, the wrongdoing, the act that causes us to be separated from God. We must do the Will of our Father who is in Heaven.
If you are sinning against God, even stuck in a secret sin, then in order to get right and clean in the eyes of the Father, you must repent and turn away from that wickedness. Now some will think their sin is not a sin. In order to understand if you are sinning, you need to be reading your Bible and read all the New Testament. Then read the Old Testament. If you are a Follower of Jesus, the Holy Spirit will teach you from God’s Holy Word, the Bible.
You must also pray for forgiveness and ask God to cleanse you of all unrighteousness. Renounce what you participated in and do not commit that sin again. Pray to our Heavenly Father often.
And one last thing, Jesus said we are to take up our cross and follow Him. Take up your cross and follow me" is a commandment from Jesus, and is found in Matthew 16:24 and Mark 8:34. It calls for radical self-denial, surrender of personal desires, and commitment to God's will, even to the point of suffering or death, symbolizing dying to self to live for Christ Jesus. It means prioritizing Jesus' path, enduring hardships, and living a Christ focused and God-honoring life, a daily choice of obedience rather than just enduring general life struggles.
Matthew 16:24, “Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
Mark 8:34, “And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
If we are to truly follow Him, then by doing so, we also will be doing the will of the Father. Following Jesus is a true commitment. Unless we obey the Will of the Father, then our following is in vain.
If you have found yourself in this situation, then pray and ask forgiveness. Turn away from the wicked sin, and take up your cross and follow Him daily doing the will of the Father.
