What a wonderful gathering at the Dover Baptist Association WMU Annual Meeting, hosted by First Baptist Church Ashland. New WMU officers were given capes, and hailed as spiritual super heroes by Pastor Mark Miller of Shalom Baptist Church, who brought an encouraging message.

What a wonderful way to conclude this National Day of Prayer attending Elijah House Academy’s Annual Gala. Pastor Spencer Dillard & Carla (who serves on EHA’s leadership staff) and their Cornerstone Christian Church family sponsored a few tables. This is a wonderful ministry to vulnerable inner city kids and the opportunity for them to grow exponentially in their Christian faith and academically. Honored that several Dover Baptist Association churches and/or members support this impactful initiative to raise up Godly young people to make a difference in their lives, the lives of their families, and communities.

So honored on this National Day of Prayer to go from Gotham (aka Richmond) to Goochland where our Dover Baptist Association founding church, Dover Baptist Church served and contributed to a wonderful time of worship, prayer and commitment for our community country and world.
As I often say, before there was a Southern Baptist Convention, there was Dover. Before there was either state association, there was Dover. Before there was a state of Virginia, there was Dover. And before the Dover Baptist Assocociation, and even before our great nation began, Dover Baptist Church has been praying and sharing the gospel of Jesus for over 250 years.
