Today in 3rd-5th grade Children’s Church we learned about Paul went to prison.
Verse: Colossians 2:6-7 Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus, the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, just as you was taught, abounding in Thanksgiving.
In Acts we talked about Paul going on mission trips, going out to spread the word of Jesus, that he was beaten almost to death but still through the bad times he had joy ( he wanted all to know about Jesus and his works, we talked about the vision of him being in shackles ( we discussed that there are times that we allow ourself to be in bo***ge that we put ourself in ( chains that not even there but we let ourself think they are) but with Jesus those chains are gone.
Goal for the week to grow closer to Jesus: SHOW OTHERS KINDNESS

Reflect: Even when we are going through a storm ( bad times) God will use them and you and you must not let anything g or one steal your Joy. You are working to help those who don’t know Jesus come to know him. When you feel the pressure of chains closing on, you have the power through Jesus to BREAK FREE.
Love watching these kiddos move into what Jesus has for them❤️🙌🏼

🌟 Teacher Highlight: Meet Mrs. Liz! 🌟

This week we’re introducing another incredible member of our HOG Kids team, Mrs. Liz Spurlock!

Mrs. Liz has been serving in HOG Kids for 4 years now, but her heart for children’s ministry began long before that. She has faithfully served in children’s ministry since 1990, investing in the lives of children for more than three decades. She teaches our Treehouse Kids (ages 8-12) on the fourth Sunday of each month and is an invaluable part of our VBS leadership team each summer. Whether she’s teaching the Bible lesson, helping coordinate behind the scenes, or greeting every child with a smile, Mrs. Liz serves with joy, compassion, and a true servant’s heart.

We asked Mrs. Liz a few questions so our HOG Kids families could get to know her a little better!

❤️ What is your favorite thing about teaching our kids?

“I love equipping children with the teachings of Christ that they can carry with them throughout their lives. Most importantly, I want them to know how deeply Jesus loves them, that He is always ready to forgive when they repent, and how they can have a personal relationship with Him. I also love teaching them about the people of the Bible and showing them how God used imperfect people with willing hearts to spread the Gospel—and that He can use them too.”

📖 What is your favorite Bible verse?

“And we know that in all things God works together for the good of those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” — Romans 8:28

💬 What is one thing you hope every child leaves HOG Kids knowing?

“I hope every child leaves truly understanding that God loves them and that Jesus gave His life on the cross to prove that love. My prayer is that every child knows how to ask Jesus into their heart and begin a personal relationship with Him.”

If your child will need bus transportation to Emerald Crossing VBS, don’t wait! The deadline to guarantee transportation is Friday, July 24th!

After Friday, we’ll be finalizing bus routes and staffing, so we can’t promise transportation for new registrations.

🌟Teacher Highlight: Meet Mrs. Kim🌟

Time to introduce another wonderful member of our HOG Kids team, Mrs. Kim!

Mrs. Kim has been faithfully serving in HOG Kids for over 10 years. She teaches our Treehouse Kids (ages 8-12) on the second Sunday of each month, serves in the nursery on the third Sunday of the month and is excited to be getting back to serving on Wednesday evenings as well. Beyond Children’s Church, she also faithfully serves during VBS and helps with The Gift. Mrs. Kim has experience working with children of all abilities and learning styles. She has a heart for making sure every child feels welcomed, loved, and included in HOG Kids.

We asked Mrs. Kim a few questions so our HOG Kids families could get to know her a little better!

❤️ What is your favorite thing about teaching our kids?
"Getting to see, firsthand, our kids growing in the Lord and receiving the Holy Spirit. There's nothing more rewarding than watching God work in their lives."

📖 What is your favorite Bible verse?
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you...when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned." Isaiah 43:2

💬 What is one thing that makes you smile when you're serving in HOG Kids?
"Seeing that no matter the age--from our youngest to the oldest--they love Jesus, want to grow closer to Him, and understand that no act of service is too small when it comes to building God's Kingdom."

🍀 This is the FINAL WEEK to pre-register if your child needs bus transportation! 🚌

The deadline to guarantee transportation is Friday, July 24. If your child will be riding one of our buses, be sure to pre-register before then so we can finalize our routes.

✨ Don’t need the bus? No worries! Online pre-registration will remain open through VBS week, and families are also welcome to register at the door each night.

We still encourage everyone to pre-register—it saves time at check-in and helps us prepare for every child who attends!

Today in HOG Nursery, our verse was 2 Corinthians 9:6 “Remember this, a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.”
So we used Oreos ( reference to dirt) and Gummies ( reference to seeds) when it comes to our HOG babies with OREOS & GUMMIES there is no Small Amount so we only PRODUCE GENEROUS CROPS! 🍪🪱🍪🪱🍪🪱

These adorable Highland cows and sweet little Blacknose sheep will be joining us during VBS! 😍 Your kids will have the chance to see these amazing animals up close as we learn about The Good Shepherd and journey through Psalm 23 together.

🌟Teacher Highlight: Meet Mrs. Sybrenia🌟
Say "Hello" to another amazing member of our HOG Kids team, Mrs. Sybrenia!

Mrs. Sybrenia has been serving in HOG Kids for about 3 years now! She teaches our Treehouse Kids (ages 8-12) on the second Wednesday of each month and is always willing to fill in wherever she's needed.

Mrs. Sybrenia's love for children shines through in the many ways she serves. In addition to teaching in HOG Kids, she faithfully serves with our HOG Teens, serves annually at VBS, helps with meals and snacks for all the children, volunteers with The Gift and our Back to School Bash, and more! Her joyful heart and willingness to serve make a difference in the lives of so many in our church family and community!

"I love watching the kids grow in their faith and love for Jesus. It's amazing to watch them learn to pray and grow in their relationship with Him."

💬 What advice would you give a child who wants to grow closer to Jesus?
"Talk to Him every day. Jesus loves when we make time for Him, and that's a great way to grow closer to him."
