As we begin our year-long study of the Gospel of John, I want to provide some resources to help you in your study of week 1 (John 1:1-18)! Each week, I will post some more resources for each section we read. I hope these help you gain greater love and knowledge of Christ.

Text for the week: John 1:1–18 – The Word and the Light. Here are some resouses to help you in your study of this weeks text.

Exciting Opportunity for 2026: Fairview Baptist Student Ministry Gospel of John Reading Plan

As we approach the new year on this December 31, 2025, many individuals set the commendable goal of reading the entire Bible in a year, a truly worthwhile endeavor. However, if you seek a more concentrated approach, we invite you to join the Fairview Baptist Student Ministry in our yearlong reading plan focused solely on the Gospel of John.

This plan allows us to delve deeply into one profound book, exploring its central themes of belief, light, truth, and eternal life through Christ. We have divided the Gospel into weekly readings with accompanying reflection themes to foster greater understanding and spiritual growth. Additionally, I will post resources at the beginning of each week to help you in your study.

Each week, we will discuss the assigned Scripture during our Sunday school hour. Please bring your insights and questions to share, providing an opportunity for deeper understanding.

We encourage students and families to participate. Let us know in the comments if you plan to join us in 2026.

“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” - ‭‭I John‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬

Propitiation reminds us that the cross was not a sentimental gesture but a holy transaction. God’s wrath against sin was real, and it was fully satisfied by the blood of Christ. At Calvary, justice was not compromised and mercy was not improvised, they met. Because Christ stood in our place, the judgment we deserved is gone, the debt is paid, and peace with God is secured forever.

🎄 Youth Christmas Party! 🎄
December 7 • 6–7 PM • Youth Room

It’s that time of year again! We’re throwing our annual White Elephant Gift Exchange — bring something $5 or less, the funnier the better.

We’ll have eggnog, hot apple cider, doughnuts, and plenty of time to laugh, relax, and enjoy the season together. Bring a friend, bring a gift, and come ready for a good time.

See you there!

God’s providence reminds us that life is not a series of accidents, but a story authored by divine wisdom. Every joy, every trial, every unexpected turn is guided by His sovereign hand. What looks like coincidence to us is often the choreography of grace—God working quietly, purposefully, and faithfully behind the scenes. Providence means that even when we cannot trace His hand, we can trust His heart, knowing that all things are moving toward His perfect will.

Last night, several of our Fairview students joyfully served our community by handing out candy and flyers for our Children’s and Youth Ministries at the Fairview Schools Trunk or Treat! We’re so thankful for their enthusiasm and willingness to represent Christ with a smile. A big thank you as well to our Fairview Baptist Church family for donating candy and helping make this outreach possible.

The doctrine of inerrancy reminds us that the Bible doesn’t merely contain truth but it is truth. Every word is God-breathed, flawless, and trustworthy because it comes from a God who cannot lie. Inerrancy isn’t about intellectual pride; it’s about humble confidence in the character of the One who speaks through Scripture. When everything else shifts, the Word of God stands firm, perfect, pure, and everlasting.
