Today we look at scripture and song 🎵:
Our reading today in Romans 4:4 says “Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due”.

When we go to work each week, at the end of the week, or 2 week period, we EXPECT a paycheck, right? We work, we get ”our due”, what is owed to us.

That friends is what is SO incredible about GRACE, we don’t have to work for it, it’s a free gift from God. We can’t now or ever work long enough, hard enough, to earn it. It’s free for the taking. Just by believing and trusting Jesus!

The song lyrics posted are a beautiful reminder of this, listen to this song today and let it speak to your heart.
“Why are you still searching, as if I’m not enough”…He is enough, always will be. ❤️ HT

Christmas..We all love it! We look forward to it! But when it comes to receiving/giving gifts, well that often depends on a maturity level.

When we were young children, we loved to receive gifts, hopefully getting all the ones we asked for. But as adults, the storyline changes, especially if you have children, to giving, that gives you the most joy!

The same can be said about our walk with Christ. In the early days, we enjoy in the newness of our faith in God, we receive lots of “I’m so happy for your decision” and all the love your church hopefully showered you with!

But there comes a time, when you become more mature in your walk with Christ, that you go from “receiver” to “giver”. Paul reminds us of what Jesus said in Acts 20:35 “It is more blessed to give than receive”…not just material things, but encouragement, support,a smile, a handshake, and most importantly, giving the good news about our Savior… Hope your day is awesome and blessed! ❤️HT

Charlie Brown, The Psychiatrist and Jesus…

What do these have to do with each other? More than you may think 🤔

I keep this picture of Charlie Brown on my desk at work. It reminds me of a couple things:

1. I know I need help, can’t deny that. What I want, is to live a wholesome, Spirit driven life, but the flesh wars against that, daily, hourly at times.

2. Like Charlie is looking to Lucy in this picture , I often look to solve my own problems, situations. I make plans and then ask God to bless them, instead of asking God to make them as they fit into His plan for my life.

Psalm 46:1 tells us “God is our help and strength, a very present help in trouble”….always available.

Now I’m not dismissing the fact that we all need certain help at times , sometimes that’s a Doctor, a psychiatrist, a mechanic, but we must be careful about only going to God as a last resort…He desires to be 1st in your life and mine. Lucy-7¢, Jesus- Free. ❤️HT

Do you ever think this? Especially as a Christian?
We’ll, let’s see how bad we have it 🤔

In Hebrews 11, we are told in many examples , people who were very faithful to God but as verse 39 tells us, did NOT receive what was promised. ??? Really?? Why?

It’s answered in verse 40, “because God had provided something better for us”!

Something better HT?? What is it?? I wish I could give you a play by play about how wonderful it will be, but to be honest, I don’t think my brain can fully comprehend it.

But, what of all the people in verses 36-38 who it tell us were:
Mocked, beaten, chained, imprisoned, stoned, sawn in half, tempted, killed with a sword, destitute lived in caves and holes in the ground?

In the same verse..”men of whom the world was not worthy “…the same answer still applies “God has provided something better for us”

Doesn’t say we will always receive it this side of Glory friends, BUT with FAITH in Jesus, we are promised something much much better ❤️

So I’ll end with the question at the start, how bad do we have it? Compared to the list above, not too bad. Doesn’t mean we don’t have pain and struggles, because we do, but don’t face it alone, Put your trust and faith in Jesus and He will never leave your side. Please reach out if I can be of any assistance in your troubles.

How many people die a day? (Answer below)
Time doesn’t stop on earth for anyone, until that day.
Let’s look at some numbers and how it relates to todays reading.

World Death Rate:

Deaths per Day:
332,648
Deaths per Hour:
13,860
Deaths per Minute:
231
Deaths per Second:
3.85

Terrifying numbers. But the reason I bring this to your attention today, is to show, that not another breath is promised to us friends.

I would venture to say that the 700 who died while you’ve read this far, did not expect it. Some may have , but most probably did not.

In Hebrews 6:7, it tells us: “Today if you hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts”….

TODAY…NOT TOMORROW. Because tomorrow is not promised. How many of the people who have left this world in the last few minutes thought they had more time? More opportunities? More time to “get right with God?” Probably more than a few.

This isn’t meant to bring you down, but to encourage you!!! Today…you are still here! Today, you have a wonderful opportunity before you, if you havnt accepted Jesus as your personal savior. I care enough about your soul to give you the truth, even when it’s hard to hear.

Remember, your one heartbeat away from Heaven or Hell. Love and pray for each of you. Please reach out if I can help you.

In Exodus 36:1-8, the people were bringing freewill offerings every morning , people blessed by God with different skills, so much so, that Moses had to tell them to stop, because there was more than enough to do what God had commanded.

What a wonderful lesson here, that when everyone pulls together to do the Lords work, it will be more than enough! Jesus tells us that the fields are ready to be harvested…let’s join together and do just that! ❤️HT

Does it seem like God gives you the hard way to go sometimes? It’s because He does!!

Before Moses led the people across the dry land in the Red sea, what Did God do?

He directed them the longer way to get there! There was a shorter way, but God knew they would be afraid and turn back..see, God knows what’s good for us, even when it doesn’t make sense..we question things that don’t fit with the plans we’ve made, but remember that God always knows what’s best.
Do you trust Him?
Have a great week friends ❤️HT

Adoption…is it in the Bible? You might be surprised 😯

This a picture of my beautiful wife, who was adopted at an early age. One of the most powerful things her mother told her about being adopted was: “YOU WERE CHOSEN”

That’s right, her parent chose to take her, feed her, raise her, provide the best for her. CHOSEN.

In our reading in Ephesians 1:4-5, Paul tells us that God, the creator of the universe:

1. Chose us before the foundation of the world
And…
2. Predestined us to Adoption as children of Jesus Christ

Do you understand then, that God not only Chose us Himself, but Chose us for Himself?
To be adopted by God , He makes and transforms us into the image of His Son, which comes with an eternal inheritance ❤️

So thank you Mary Hallenbeck for adopting my wife, as you chose her, so do I. And thank you God for Adopting those into Your kingdom who choose to Love and put their trust in Your one and only Son Jesus!

Do you know Him? Would you like to? I would honored to help you in anyway I can to do that!
