Saint John's Episcopal Church, Ashfield, MA Let all who enter here be received as Christ. St. John’s Episcopal Church is a small congregation with a big heart and spirit. We are all travelers together.

We sing joyfully, we worship prayerfully, we eagerly seek to learn more about God and to deepen our relationship with the Holy One. We gratefully serve the world in Jesus’ name. We welcome you to worship with us, join us for fellowship or even just come at any time to sit and absorb the quiet holiness of this sacred place. Our understanding is that praying shapes believing. Our faith is nurtured b

y participating in the worship and life of the congregation. We are an open church — we welcome all people no matter who you are or where you are on your spiritual journey. We invite you on a spiritual journey that will take all of us to the heart of God.

All are invited to join Saint John’s in welcoming our new vicar, the Reverend Harvey Hill, this Sunday, September 6, at our 10:00 service of Holy Communion. Our friends at Ashfield UCC will be joining us for this celebration.

Rev. Hill comes most recently from Saint David’s Episcopal Church in Agawam, MA where he served for the last fifteen years. Before that, he taught Religion at Berry College, a small liberal arts college in Georgia. He has also taught Religion at Mount Holyoke College.

Hill lives in Northampton with his wife of thirty-four years, Carrie Baker. Baker is a Professor of Women’s Studies at Smith College. They have two adult sons, Benjamin and Nicholas, in Chicago and Providence, Rhode Island respectively.

Hill says he is excited to get started at Saint John’s. “It’s a wonderful parish in a wonderful town. I look forward to meeting the members of the congregation, as well as working with other Churches in the area and the people of Ashfield.”
