Mat 9:35 And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction.
Mat 9:36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
Mat 9:37 Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few;
Mat 9:38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."

I would apologize to any of you who check my page. I'm not much of a writer and even writing down things I have preached is difficult. When i preach verbally, it just flows, but when i try to write it is a struggle. It doesn't help that I type slowly. I need to take Brother Jeff Taylor up on his offer to build my website and fix it so i can upload videos.

I am learning how all this works, so my posts don't run consecutively. I hope to figure that out soon. Sorry.

Sorry for incomplete thoughts, but life is happening while I am writing. Jesus, the Son is the true Vine. The real one as opposed to, the people Israel. The vine, made of gold, wrapped around the top party of the temple. Jesus is saying that He is the true vine. Not the system of religion that had come to dominate Jewish culture. The Father is the gardener. In verse 2, I prefer to focus on the pruning process, as the unfruitful branches are dealt with again in verse 6 and will look at it there. Branches that bear fruit are valuable and are care for by the vine dresser. During the growing season, the branch might grow 6 or 8 feet and possibly longer. After the fruit is harvested comes pruning time. We experience time of growth and fruitfulness, but uncontrolled growth can become unproductive. This is why the good branches must be pruned so they produce more fruit and better fruit. The pruning process is painful, but cutting the branch back gets it close to the vine again.
We'll pick up there next time and until then may God richly bless you with the abundance of His holy Presence.

In an agrarian culture, like Israel in Jesus day, the background of this passage would be understood. Today not too many people understand growing grapes. On the hillsides around Jerusalem, were many grapevines, as the water there was mostly not fit for humans.

We believe the Lord led us to build this webpage. We have never been able to get videos on here for several reasons, mostly because postings can't be more than 30 minutes. We had other issues, but any of you who have heard me preach know I am long-winded. Since that didn't work out so well, today I decided to start posting the printed word.
Anyone who has heard me more than a few times has heard me speak out of John 15. this is probably the chapter in the New Testament I have studied the most. Over next little while I hope to do some postings related to that chapter.
Joh 15:1 "I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.
Joh 15:2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
Joh 15:3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.
Joh 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.
Joh 15:5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
Joh 15:6 If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.
Joh 15:7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
Joh 15:8 By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.
Joh 15:9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.
Joh 15:10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.
Joh 15:11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
I will continue later.

We've been working on this for a while. We keep hitting glitches, but it is our desire to glorify the Lord! We will persevere!
