We are very happy that our church will have a new life and we praise our Lord for the miracle of renewal and rebirth!

ATTENTION UPDATE:
In lieu of some unfortunate and unexpected legalities, Giles Chapel Cemetery Association has been dissolved. It has came to the attention of the United Methodist Church of some problems and they are not going to be able to be resolved. The people who were involved with the organization of the Cemetery Association are NO longer taking part with anything to do with the Giles Chapel Cemetery and can not be held responsible for anything to do with the Cemetery. Please refrain from contacting them. The people who are now fully in charge of Giles Chapel Cemetery and are responsible for any and all issues and questions to do with the Cemetery are Frank Sanders and Tony Sanders. Donations must be made to them now and and new plot information inquiry must be sent to them. They can be reached at (336)588-1740 . We appreciate everyone's patience during this time and again if anyone has any questions please contact Tony Sanders.

There has been several questions posed to our church. This is the new information we have. As posted on the church door, Wesley Property Management will now handle any questions or concerns about the church property.

Giles Chapel Cemetery is no longer a part of Giles Chapel UMC. There is a now in place Giles Chapel Cemetery Association. This is the only type of Association or program in place for Giles Chapel Cemetery. We are not associated with any non-profit organization. That is completely separated from Giles Chapel UMC and Giles Chapel Cemetery Association. We are in works with finding out to have the correct accounts set up from the Wesleyan and UMC conference about where and how to get the funds ment only for the care of the Cemetery to the correct accounts. The UMC is aware of the ongoing issues and working to resolve them. If you or your family have any questions on where or how to donate for the upkeep of the Cemetery please contact the number posted in the photo and they will be able to direct you.

Any and all funds that are donated will have to go to the Giles Chapel Cemetery Association. This is the only system in place to take care of Giles Chapel Cemetery. The sign located in the back section of the Cemetery is absolutely NOT associated with Giles Chapel Cemetery Association and those funds DO NOT go to support Giles Chapel Cemetery Association. Rev. Renee Easter of the UMCC stated that the person(s) who made that sign are a complete and seperate entity and have nothing to do with Giles Chapel UMC or Giles Chapel Cemetery Association. These files are on record with the UMC. We are obligated to let anyone who has donated to be aware of this issue.

The members of Giles Chapel Cemetery Association are as follows.
Todd Snider- Chairman/lead person
Zack Duke
Tony Sanders
Justin Kersey

Any decisions made or brought to the community must go through our Chairman and the Wesleyan Comfernce or UMC only!

If you have any questions or concerns please contact the number on the photo below.

Thank you.
Giles Chapel UMC.

Our last Sunday in Giles Chapel church. So many memories and fellowship. Such a bittersweet day this has been. We do believe God is not finished with us yet. He still has a plan even in the sadness and in our darkest moments. It was a absolute blessing to see everyone who came out and to hear all the stories from people in the church. We will always remember our church family at Giles Chapel and be forever grateful for our experiences and life lessons and all the messages through out the years that have touched us in one way or another. These times are precious. One day we are hoping for a resurrection for our church and possibly a new life breathed into a new body in Christ. So, for now it's not goodbye it is I'll see you later. ❤️ Thank you for many years of service and may God bless each one of you in love and happiness.

It is with great sadness that we announce our last Sunday service for June 26th, 2022 at Giles Chapel United Methodist Church. We are set to close our doors on June 30th, 2022. Although, we do still have a glimmer of hope this would not happen as of now, these are our predicted dates.

Next year Giles Chapel would be 190 years old. That is a huge accomplishment for any church to have been around for so many years. Giving back to the community, fellowship and helping bring people to know our Lord and Savior. So many families and individuals have passed through these halls and sat in the pews. Endless numbers of memories that have been made here, from weddings, Christmas celebrations, Easter celebrations, Baptism ceremonies, and watching people kneel down in front of the altar giving all their concerns and worries to God. The love felt in the church is such a blessing and knowing when you walked into this church, you knew you would laugh, cry and be comforted by those around you. Seeing people literally give their life to Christ after hearing a sermon and the Holy Spirit moving them. It's a feeling of home. A feeling like no other. Children learning to love the Lord and keeping the knowledge with them and life lessons through their life and our church family impacting little lives with the word of the Lord. It's absolutely amazing. We used to be known as "the singing church" and our chimes could be heard over the hills near this part of town, Gold Hill Road and Giles Chapel.

From 1833 to 2022. We have been through the Civil War all the way up to present day. And we have held strong. The Lord has kept us in his stronghold. And, as time rolls on we understand things change with it.

We openly invite every single person, family who has ever been to Giles Chapel, grew up in our church, had anything to do with our church at all, even watching us online during Covid to come out. Even if you had never been to our church before, we welcome all people to come out and celebrate, remember and fellowship with one another on June 26th, 2022. Our service will start at 11:15am. Following our service, in our fellowship hall ( Trogdon Hall) we will have lunch, so bring out your best dish to share and take a moment to look at all the memorable things that will be set up in our fellowship hall as a remembrance of this wonderful place so many people call home now and forever, our home church.

May God continue to bless you and keep you and let us remember that God has a plan for everything even if we do not know what that might be. It is heartbreaking for so many but, God mends our brokenness and in him we are made whole once again.

God bless you all and we hope to see everyone June 26th, 2022 at 11:15AM.
