What does one week of camp mean to a child in need?

It means laughter echoing through the trees.
It means stories around the campfire.
It means knowing they're loved by Jesus and by people like you.

Every child we send to camp receives more than just food and fun — they receive encouragement, purpose, and the chance to grow in faith and confidence.

Your support can be the reason a child says, “That was the best week of my life.”

Camp is calling and a child in our community is hoping to answer.

For many kids, summer camp is more than just a break from routine. It is a place where they feel safe, build friendships, and experience joy.

You can help make that possible.

Your gift sends a child to Camp Walter Johnson, where they will try new things, grow in confidence, and hear a message of hope that can change their life.

Will you send a child to camp today?

Every year on the first Friday of June, America
celebrates National Donut Day with free treats and donut deals, but behind the glaze
and sprinkles is a powerful history of remarkable women who showed up with
compassion when it mattered most. This June 5, The Salvation Army invites its neighbors to fill our community with joy by honoring the heart and resilience of
the tradition.
National Donut Day was established in 1938 to honor the women who volunteered with
The Salvation Army to provide spiritual and emotional care, critical supplies, and freshly
fried donuts to American soldiers on the front lines of World War I. These women
became known as “Donut Lassies,” and today, their legacy is a reminder that small acts
of kindness can carry enormous joy.
