This past week, our team packed bags for two 10-year-old boys who came into care. Please join us in lifting them, their birth parents, their foster parents, and their social workers all up in prayer as they adjust in the coming weeks.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month 💙 Come join us on April 16th to learn about all of the local resources available to support families and prevent abuse in our community!

The Randolph County Department of Social Services (DSS), in partnership with Asheboro Police Department, Randolph Family Crisis Center, NC Guardian ad Litem Randolph County, Project 82, Randolph County Public Health, Randolph Partnership for Children, Randolph County Sheriff's Office, NC and Standing in the Gap, will be hosting a Child Abuse Prevention Walk & Block Party in Downtown Asheboro on April 16, 2026 at Asheboro Recreation Center located at 148 North Street in Asheboro. The event begins at 4:30 pm with our community partners hosting tables on site with information about their agencies and the services they provide, plus kids' activities. The opening ceremony begins at 5 pm, followed by a mile walk that will focus on advocating for prevention, and raising awareness to prevent child abuse and neglect, strengthen families, and foster healthy children and youth. The walk also serves as an opportunity to bring the community together and collaborate by sharing information about each agency's services and efforts to prevent child abuse. We invite all residents to attend!

We were able to pack a clothing and comfort bag and Walmart gift card for a young man who came into foster care yesterday. Please pray for him as he adjusts to many changes in the coming weeks.

Today our team packed bags for a teenage girl who came into care on Christmas. Please join us in praying for her in the coming days as she adjusts to being in care, especially with coming into foster care during the holidays. 🙏🏼
