🀝 Eleven churches. Local organizations. One community.

On August 8, churches from across Eastside Asheboro are coming together with Randolph County Concerned Citizens and the Reach Community Resource Center to serve families as they head into a new school year.

πŸŽ’βœοΈ There will be free backpacks and school supplies, bounce houses, hot dogs, face painting, food trucks, a live DJ, and plenty for the whole family to enjoy!

We love being part of a city where churches can work together to make a difference, and we would love for you to join us. πŸ’š

Yesterday, we kicked off our new series, Crossroads, with a look at the life of Saul and the reality that every believer eventually comes to a place where they must decide which direction they will take. The choices we make today shape who we become tomorrow, and God's Word remains the foundation that helps us navigate every season with confidence and clarity. πŸ™

We also want to take a moment to celebrate some incredible people who continue to say "yes" to serving others: Jorge & Janet from our Asheboro Campus and Cory & Ann Cummings from our Liberty Campus.

Through hospitality, prayer, worship, kids ministry, ushering, and leadership, they help create an environment where people can encounter Jesus, find community, and grow in their faith. πŸ’šπŸ™Œ

Thank you for your faithfulness and for helping make Reach Church a place where people experience belonging.

Family reflects God's heart and love toward us. Strong families are built through daily habits.

Here are 5 simple ways families can grow stronger together! πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦

πŸ“± Be intentional about putting distractions away sometimes and being present. It is possible to live in the same house and still miss each other. Conversations around the table, laughing together, or simply slowing down and spending time together matter more than we realize.

πŸ—£οΈ Learn how to work through conflict instead of avoiding it. Healthy families are not families without problems. They are families willing to communicate, extend grace, and keep their hearts open to one another.

🎣 Make memories together. Shared experiences, simple traditions, and time spent doing things everyone enjoys help build a connection that lasts.

🀝 Stay close in every season. Celebrate each other in the good moments and support one another through the difficult ones. Sometimes, just showing up consistently means more than having all the right words.

πŸ™ Keep God at the center of everyday life. Pray together. Talk about faith naturally. Let your home be a place where peace, encouragement, and the presence of God are felt regularly.

‼️ Worship loses its meaning when the same mouth praising God on Sunday spends the rest of the week tearing people down.

Words carry more weight than most people realize. The way you speak about people, those close to you or the person in line in front of you, says a lot about what is happening internally.

Profanity is not the only problem. Constant criticism, sarcasm, gossip, and speaking down to people can do just as much damage.

A transformed life should eventually produce transformed speech. That does not mean people will never struggle with their words, but it does mean we should stop treating careless speech like it is normal. πŸ’”

The way we talk to and about people matters because every person we encounter carries value in the eyes of God.

πŸ“– β€œWith the tongue we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in God’s likeness.” -James 3:9

Some weeks, you feel like you can breathe again, like things are finally lining up. Other weeks feel heavy. You are trying to hold it together at work, at home, in your mind, and it feels like too much all at once. You pray, but you are not sure what to say. You show up, but you feel worn down. β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή

God does not disappear in one season and show up in another. He is present in both. He is just as near in the storm as He is in the peace. πŸ™Œ

If you are in a hard week right now, you are not behind and you are not forgotten. He is with you in it. πŸ’š

πŸ“– β€œGod is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” -Psalm 46:1

How powerful is your tongue? πŸ—£οΈ

πŸ”₯ A fire does not have to start big to leave destruction behind, and neither do our words. Some people have burned down relationships, families, and their own future with nothing more than their words. One conversation spoken in anger, a constant stream of negativity, one careless comment repeated enough times can damage the atmosphere of a home and the direction of a life.

You can tell a lot about what is happening in someone’s heart by what constantly comes out of their mouth. Words do not just express what is inside us. Over time, they create the world we live in. 🌎

Maybe the issue is not everything happening around you. Maybe it is the fire being fueled by what you continue to speak.

πŸ“– β€œDeath and life are in the power of the tongue…” -Proverbs 18:21
