Happy Memorial Day from all of us at Freedom Baptist Church.
Today we remember that all gave some, but some gave all. We are deeply grateful for the men and women who laid down their lives so we could live in freedom. Thank you for your sacrifice.
Yet even the sacrifice of many brave soldiers ultimately points to the greatest sacrifice of all—the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us:
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
As we honor those who have served and died for our country, please also consider your eternal destination. Ask yourself: Have I remembered and responded to the greatest sacrifice—the sacrifice Jesus made to pay for my sin?
If your answer is “Yes, I have trusted Christ”, then take a moment today to thank God for saving you and giving you everlasting life.
If your answer is “No” or “I’m not sure”, then let today be the day you remember and RESPOND to God’s sacrifice. Turn from your sin, believe that Jesus died and rose again for you, and place your trust in Him alone. He will forgive you, save you, and secure your eternal home in Heaven.
This Memorial Day, as you see the flags and remember the fallen, don’t overlook the cross. Honor the memory of those who died for our earthly freedom—and receive the One who died and rose again to give you eternal life.
