Are you facing difficulties in life? Sickness, defeat, financial loss, divorce, loss of a loved one, cancer, depression, anxiety, or anything that is consuming your life? Who isn’t?
When we read 2 Chronicles 20:1-30, we see that 3 mighty nations joined together to defeat Jehoshaphat, King of Judah (the southern kingdom). Seeking the LORD and His wisdom, Jehoshaphat called for a fast throughout Judah. Through Prophet Jahaziel, God told Jehoshaphat, and the people of Judah and Jerusalem , [15] “Do not be afraid nor dismay because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.[16] Tomorrow go down against them. They will surely come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the brook before the Wilderness of Jeruel. [17] You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.”
Do you see that?? Do you see what others people or situations will do to you and what you need to do?
God did not say to sit on their couches and eat potato chips. God said to face that fear. Let whatever situation you face come. Let them rage. Let them think they are big. You show up, position yourselves and stand still. Not mocking them or throwing back insults. We are to show up, stand still, and watch God move!! There are so many good things to pull out of these 30 verses but I want you to know that the battle you are facing is not yours to fight! It is God’s. Let Him fight it in your stead. He does a much better job than we could ever imagine doing on our own.
Just to tell you the results of the battle, God set ambushes among the 3 kingdoms that were against Jehoshaphat and they ended up battling and killing each other. It took Judah 3 days to plunder the spoils. Not only did God fight their battles but He also gave them physical blessings to carry back.
