We Pray & Trust God- James 5: 13-20

Hello Peoples Church!

This week we will be finishing the book of James with Pastor Waylon's sermon titled, "We Pray & Trust God". Thank you for studying along with us as we went through this book with both Pastor Bernie and Pastor Waylon. Today, Pastor Waylon will help us take a look at the power of prayer.

Special reminder to set your alarms to 12pm every day, as we will pray together at that time daily as a church body!

'Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops. My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.'

Living in Light of Christ's Return- James 5: 7-12

Greetings, Peoples Church!

Today we welcome Pastor Waylon again, as our new Pastor! Pastor Waylon's first Sunday sermon with us is titled "Living in Light of Christ's Return". Join on in with us as we continue in the book of James, and spend some time on the fruit of the spirit, patience.

We would also like to give you a special reminder to set an alarm on your phone or device, or write yourself a special note to pray each day as a church family at noontime. Every day when our alarms go off, we will stop to pray together as a body for the Holy Spirit to move here in Peoples Church and in our community, to grow us and to guide our church.

'Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door! Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned. '

Passing the Baton- Thank You Pastor Bernie, and Welcome Pastor Waylon! (Deuteronomy 31: 1-8)

Hello Peoples Church family!

Please join us in welcoming Pastor Waylon Eddings as our new Pastor of Peoples Church! We are so grateful to you for following God's calling to be our next shepherd. We are so blessed! This is a very exciting time for all of us! We encourage all of you to keep both Pastor Bernie, Pastor Waylon and his family in your prayers as we all, once again, enter a time of transition.

Today's sermon by Pastor Bernie Michaud is titled "Passing the Baton". Today Pastor Bernie will charge Pastor Waylon as our new Pastor.

Pastor Bernie, we are so grateful to you for your love and leading of our church family during our time of transition. Thank you so much, and please come back to visit us! You will always belong at Peoples Church.

'Then Moses went out and spoke these words to all Israel: “I am now a hundred and twenty years old and I am no longer able to lead you. The Lord has said to me, ‘You shall not cross the Jordan.’ The Lord your God himself will cross over ahead of you. He will destroy these nations before you, and you will take possession of their land. Joshua also will cross over ahead of you, as the Lord said. And the Lord will do to them what he did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, whom he destroyed along with their land. The Lord will deliver them to you, and you must do to them all that I have commanded you. Be strong and courageous.
