Jail Ministry April 13 - 19, 2025 - Last week’s updates gave us a beautiful glimpse of how the Kairos ministry continues to make an impact behind bars. Two of our students shared stories connected to that ministry. One recently had the joy of leading a Kairos reunion and shared how well it went. He’s also excited to be playing with the worship band during an upcoming service. Another is preparing to serve in his third Kairos weekend. He shared how blessed he feels to be working outside the facility at a milk plant and is awaiting a FAFSA award letter to attend college classes. Even as he wrestles with the spiritual challenges of his environment, he’s pressing forward—learning to let go of the past and remain open to what God has ahead. Their stories remind us how powerful it is when faith is lived out through service, even within prison walls.
Meanwhile, another student has been faithfully working through his Emmaus lessons, tutoring fellow inmates in GED classes, and recently began an 8-month substance abuse program. He’s made the decision to pursue lifelong sobriety and is trusting God with both the present and the future. While he knows the journey won’t be easy—especially in prison—he finds encouragement in the hope of salvation and the promises of God’s Word. His testimony reminds us that true peace often comes when we surrender control and choose to follow God wholeheartedly.
Friendly reminder that this is just a glimpse of what God is doing. Can you imagine the transformation that could happen if more people answered the call?
