We've spent 40 days post resurrection studying Jesus' last instructions to all who would believe. What an awesome opportunity we have to share our Love, Faith and Hope of Jesus Christ to our Family and Friends. St. Paul tells us these 3 remain; faith, hope, and love. The greatest of these is love. So the question is do you love enough to save someone from ignorance? Ignorance is never satisfactory when you have a message that is for eternity. Pass it on! Let the Holy Spirit do the rest.

This Sunday we begin a time in the church year called Advent. Over the next 4 weeks we celebrate, in various ways, the waiting in anticipation for Christ's return. Much like the 1st century Jew was waiting for the Messiah we wait for the return of Christ. The weeks are designated under various names but we use the names; Hope, Peace, Love and Joy. The first week of Hope in the promises of God particularly our salvation in Jesus Christ. Peace not only in our hearts but a time when we look forward to a restored peace with God for eternity. Love, saving love from God the Father that he gave his only Son to die for us. Joy in Jesus that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. A time when we see all our hope coming together with a pure spirit and a perfect body on a new heaven and new earth. A time of joy as Adam and Eve experienced it before sin entered into the world.
Come join us at Kipling Meadows community room at 10:15am on sunday for this wonderful time of the church year. All are welcome.

Greetings from Pastor Doug. It has been a while since our last post as we have been busy settling in to Kipling Meadows. This is an awesome retirement community both in accommodations and people. We would like to extend a warm welcome to anyone who is not a resident, as everyone is welcome to join us. A few of the residents have moved to other facilities but they do attend each and every Sunday to hear God's word. So if you find yourself on the outside come join us to hear about Jesus. This week we specifically look at Hebrews chapter 2 which is a fantastic section of Scripture that reveals just who Jesus is and what that means for us.

"When You come into your glory can one of us sit on your right and one on your left." What a statement! That request came from 2 of Jesus' inner circle James and John. Can you even comprehend the magnitude of such a request? The bottom line in the bible is that God hates pride and honors humility. An author of a book I read recently said that as soon as you think you are humble you probably aren't. Humility is held in tension and oh so difficult to achieve let alone maintain. Proverbs' 16:5 says, " Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord. Wow, an abomination, an outrage, a disgrace, a horror, and a hatred. So it is clear that we are told to but on humility, but it is tough. It is tough because the defining sin of humility is pride. However, if we live in Christ we see humility exhibited in Christ and follow His example. I pray for you all during this lenten season that your hearts, minds, and soul will be freed from any doubt that Jesus is our All in All. Come to hear more this Sunday at the Apec community center in Arvada at 10:00am.

How many of us understand the person of Jesus but don't understand the plan. In Mark 8:27-33, Jesus asked two penetrating questions. The first was "who do people say I am." The second was "Who do you say I am." The answer has eternal impact. Wrong answer and eternity will not be your friend. Correct answer and unbelievable glories await. Peter had the answer correct, "You are the Christ, the Son of the LIving God." But he turned right around and got the plan all messed up. Jesus rebuked him, "Get behind me Satan." You see Satan's way to glory, blessing, and power come without suffering, without pain. Jesus' way to glory, blessing, and power is through suffering. Death is the penalty for sin. Thanks be to God through Jesus he took on that pain for us so that our experience with death is very different. Jesus' death open the door for us to a glorious eternity. Peter finally figured that out. Read 1 Peter 2: 21-25 and join us Sunday at 10:00 Am at the Apex Community Rec Center in Arvada to take a deeper look into Mark chapter 8.
