Here is the Sermon question and weekly practice for Psalm 23 pt. 5

Psalm 23 pt.5 Sermon Questions

What situation am I waiting to change before I believe I can have peace?

Am I focusing more on the enemies around me or on the table Jesus has already prepared?

Do I approach God as someone who is welcomed by grace, or as someone who is barely tolerated?

Is there shame in my life that Jesus has forgiven but I am still carrying as though I do not belong at His table?

Where am I defining abundance by what I possess instead of by what I have in Christ?

What evidence of God’s overflowing grace can I recognize in my life right now?

Psalm 23 pt.5 Sermon Practice
Weekly Practice: Table Gratitude

Practice seeing the table instead of staring at the enemy.

Each day, take five minutes and write down three gifts of God’s grace that are present in your life right now. Not things you wish would change. Things God has already placed before you.

It may be: a person you love, a meal, a conversation, Forgiveness, Scripture, A quiet moment, A prayer answered, Strength for one more day, A church family, Hope in Christ.

Then pray: “Jesus, thank You for preparing a table for me even in the middle of trouble.”

One more challenge this week: Share a table with someone.
Invite someone to eat with you. Someone lonely, someone hurting, someone you have not seen in a while, someone you need to reconcile with, someone who may need encouragement.

What a wonderful afternoon celebrating what Jesus has done in our lives! Seeing these young people professing their faith through Baptism is so encouraging. May God be glorified in Arthur County.

*Reminder: We will have Baptisms at the lake this Sunday following the church service!

* We will aim to meet and start Baptisms by 12:30pm at Martin Bay, just west of the low-water boat launch area near the dam.

*Baptisms will be followed by a carry-in picnic and a day of fun at the beach.

*We'll provide hot dogs and fixings, plates, and utensils, but please bring a dish to share.

*Life Vests for children are highly recommended due to the shore being near the drop-off.

Here are the Psalm 23:4 Sermon questions

Psalm 23 pt.4 Sermon Questions

Have I interpreted a difficult season as evidence that God has abandoned me or that I have failed Him?

Can I bring my fear and grief honestly to Jesus instead of pretending that faithful Christians never struggle?

Am I so focused on getting an explanation from God that I am missing His presence with me?

What would change if I truly believed that Jesus is present with me in the valley I am facing right now?

Where am I demanding that God show me the whole path instead of trusting the Shepherd for the next step?

What fear loses some of its power when I remember that Jesus has already defeated sin and death?

Psalm 23 pt.4 Sermon Practice
Weekly Practice: The Presence Prayer

This week, every time you feel fear, anxiety, grief, or uncertainty, stop for a few seconds. Take a slow breath.
Pray: Jesus, You are with me here.”
Don't rush past it.
Say it again: “Jesus, You are with me here.”

Then name the valley honestly. Jesus, I am scared about this diagnosis. Jesus, I don't know what is going to happen. Jesus, I miss this person. Jesus, I'm worried about my family. Jesus, I feel alone. Jesus, I don't understand.

Then finish with Psalm 23:4: Even though I walk through the valley…You are with me.”

One more challenge. Find one person who is walking through a valley this week.

Don't feel like you have to explain their suffering. Don't give them a cliché. Don't tell them everything happens for a reason. Just practice the ministry of presence. Call them. Visit them. Bring them a meal. Sit with them. Pray with them. And remind them: You don't have to walk through this alone.
