Lightshine

Lightshine is a group of young adults who love to sing for God's glory. Starting in 9th grade and continuing on up! Rehearsals are from 4:15-5:15 p.m.

on Sunday afternoons at Long Beach Christian Reformed Church. Performances are in January at Trinity Christian Reformed Church located in Artesia.

There is a video showing of past memories at the beginning. I’m hoping to get a better one of those postedthere eventually. If you want to forward to where the concert starts, it’s about 30 minutes in. I hope you enjoy it!!

Attention Lightshine Alumni and Friends:

Preparations are in work for the grand finale of Lightshine!! Rehearsals will begin September 10th - 4:30 pm at Long Beach Christian Reformed Church. The program will include some of your favorite songs and drama since the beginning of Lightshine as well as new music. Performances will be held at Artesia Trinity Christian Reformed Church the last weekend of January, 2024. Mark your calendars to join us for an exciting evening of praise and worship to our Lord and King!!

After a lot of prayer, it has been decided that we will be doing our final season of Lightshine. We will be singing some of our favorite songs and doing some reflection over the past years. Over the summer we encourage you to prayerfully consider joining us if you have ever sung in Lightshine before. Practices will start again in the fall. Keep an eye out for more information.

UNSTOPPABLE GOD
Lightshine 2022. We are so excited to tell you that we are back and ready to start our rehearsals for Lightshine! Our first meeting is THIS Sunday October 10 from 4-5 pm in the worship center at BellOne Christian Reformed church. 17603 Ardmore Ave. Bellflower, Ca 90706. Please note the location change for rehearsals!!!! We look forward to seeing you all there!!

So here’s how it all began.......Our church (LBCRC) had a men’s quartet called The Gospelaires and a women’s sextet called His Womanfolk. The families became the best of friends and spent most weekends together. After sometime they decided to have their kids sing with them every now and again coming with the name ‘Our Kids’. After a bit all kids at our church were asked to participate. Eventually the kids grew up and weren’t so much ‘kids’ anymore. Time for a name change. We became Lightshine and have continued to to sing every year since! I’m thinking this picture was taken around 1977.
