Praise the Lord who controls the wind and the waves! The Gifford Fire was about 3 miles from Lopez Canyon, with the wind blowing directly toward the camp. On the morning of Thursday, August 14, God changed the direction of the wind 180*, pushing the fire away from Lopez Canyon and back toward the burn area. Of the 130,000 acres burned, only 5 structures were lost. We are thankful for the many firefighters who fought this blaze!

The registration deadline date has been extended to Sunday, July 13 for the Jr / Sr high camp AND Elementary camp. Thankful for a little rain today (3 1/2" since last night). 18" in the last 15 days! The creek has covered the entire parking lot bridge 4 times this month. Only minor erosion along the creekbed.
