We are changing our Church-Wide Prayer Gatherings from the first Wednesday of the month to the first Thursday of the month from 5-6pm in our Worship Center. We are calling these “Altar Gatherings” as we seek God simply through prayer and worship.

In all four Gospel accounts, Jesus enters the temple in Jerusalem with fiery zeal for His Father’s house. “My house, Jesus pointedly said, shall be a house of prayer for all nations!” As a church, we want to come into alignment and agreement with Jesus’ heart for his Father’s house. For us that place is THE ALTAR. Throughout the Bible, the altar was the place where the human and divine interacted, the place where heaven and earth intersected, where offerings and sacrifices were made, prayers and intercession were prayed, praise was lifted and God’s presence burned with holy fire among his people. The principal in the heart of God was for the altar in his house (tabernacle, temple and now PEOPLE) to perpetually burn with the holy fire morning, noon and night (Leviticus 6:13).

Come join us this Thursday as we seek God with great faith together!

With joy,
- Pastor Galen

Last week, our students gathered together at Arroyo Grande High School with several churches in our area. They prayed over each other, over the school year, over our town, over their friends and family, and lifted praises high in the name of Christ.

This event has been such a beautiful blessing to our community of students, and we are so grateful to witness God’s faithfulness in the next generation, year after year. It is such an honor and a joy to see how passionate these high schoolers are about their faith and their pursuit to live and live like Jesus!

Continue to pray for our students on the Central Coast, as they settle back into the school year rhythms. Pray for continued support and strength from the Lord as they face challenges, for peace as they navigate their way through friendships, and endurance as they walk closely with the Lord.🤎

Last Sunday, we started with a name. ❤️

Let’s keep building from there. Community grows through simple conversations, shared life, and making room for one another.

As we celebrate 150 years of God’s faithfulness, let’s keep reaching in and connecting with the people God has placed around us.

What a day. 🤍

This past Sunday, we celebrated 150 years of God’s faithfulness—remembering where we’ve been, giving thanks for the people who have shaped our church, and looking ahead with hope for what God is still doing.

To everyone who joined us, thank you for being part of such a meaningful day. If you weren’t able to be there, don’t worry—our celebration isn’t over.

Over the next four weeks, we’ll continue our Reach series as we reflect on God’s faithfulness and look toward the future He is calling us into. We hope you’ll join us as we continue celebrating, growing, and discovering what it means to reach our community with the hope of Jesus.

The story didn’t end at 150 years—it continues with all of us.

The finishing touches are coming together, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you.

This Sunday, we gather to celebrate 150 years of God’s faithfulness—honoring the stories, the people, and the generations that have shaped our church while looking ahead with hope for what God has in store.

Join us this Sunday, August 16, at 9:00 AM or 11:00 AM as we celebrate this special milestone together. We can’t wait to see you!

Some places become part of your story from an early age—and for Bonnie Davis, GBC has been one of those places.

Bonnie first came to GBC when she was just five years old. What drew her in then is still meaningful to her today: a church committed to reading the Bible and teaching the truth of God’s Word.

Even after spending a few years away, coming back to GBC felt like coming home.

As we celebrate 150 years, we’re grateful for stories like Bonnie’s that remind us of God’s faithfulness through generations—and the lasting impact of a church that keeps pointing people back to His Word. ❤️

For 150 years, God has been faithfully working through the people of GBC.

In this week’s anniversary interview, Caleb Scott shares what it has meant to grow up at GBC and his hope for the future of our church. His prayer is that we would continue to be a church empowered to be the hands and feet of Jesus—loving our neighbors, serving our community, and sharing the hope of Christ.

As we celebrate 150 years of God’s faithfulness, we’re thankful for the stories that remind us where we’ve been and inspire us for where He’s leading us.

Join us as we celebrate our 150th Anniversary on August 16.
