Well, it is finally official. The deed transfer has been signed and all the paperwork has been submitted. The inspections are complete and we can proceed with occupancy, The Lord has made the way and we will forever be indebted to Calvary Lutheran Church for blessing us with a long waited for home. 🥲🙏
Exactly nine years ago today, on April 1, 2017, a group of men from our ministry went to Calvary Lutheran Church for a workday. Our ministry decided early on the follow the Lord's word as written in Galatians 6:9-10:
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
So, we committed to helping smaller churches in the valley by doing whatever we could to helping maintain and improve their buildings and facilities.
Two days later I wrote an email to my ministry team and said the following:
“Don't ask me to explain this, but I personally feel there will be an ongoing relationship for me (us) with this church. Still waiting for clarity as to what that means”
The members of Calvary Lutheran can take comfort and have joy knowing their church will remain the house of the Lord. It will be a place where Jesus will be lifted up and his love will be unconditionally given to neighbors near and far.
I had no idea this was the Lord's plan 9 years ago. I only knew He had more in mind when he had us serve this small congregation via a simple workday.
I cannot say what lies ahead for the Compassion Network Ministries now that we have our new "home." I can say this is an answer to prayer as we have been seeking a building of our own for years. There have even been a couple of times where we believed that prayer was going to be answered only to have those potential properties go in another direction. leaving us disappointed. 😥
For the few ministry partners who have been with us from the beginning, you can see the Lord's hand has been on this process the whole time. The Lord provides according to his will and in his time. We have been gifted a church AND a parsonage that are so much better and offer so many more opportunities for ministry than the properties we "thought" were meant for us. ❤😅
Since our workday 9 years ago, the following improvements were made to the buildings: a new roof on the parsonage, new boilers, new hot water tanks, a handicapped access ramp, a chair lift, new electrical panel, new, heavy electronic security doors, new sewer line and bathroom fixtures, new dining hall floor, new rubber roof for the dining hall and kitchen...we are incredibly blessed 🥲🙏
There is nothing to else to say, we can't be more grateful and mire humbled when we have witnessed what the Lord has done.
On behalf of the Compassion Network Ministries, I have one humble request to ask of those who read this post. Prior to and during covid, we were always blessed with dozens of ministry partners often representing over 15 different churches who labored with us in our outreach efforts in the community.
We long to return to a time where we have that quantity and quality of help as we seek to serve our neighbors in new ways. We pray the Lord will bring us brothers and sisters in Christ who will love our neighbors as Jesus has loved us.
We do believe the Lord has new plans for our ministry. Our prayer is for the Lord to lead new laborers who will join us in our local mission fields for they are ripe for harvest. May the Lord bless you all beyond measure. 🙏❤
