Chronicle of Faith Part 5: Living Faith vs. Dead Faith

Our man of God, Apostle Dr. Richard Ferim, continued his teaching in the series "Chronicles of Faith," starting with the premise that true faith must be paired with action ("works") to be complete and perfected; otherwise, it is dead. He insisted that simply memorizing or knowing the Bible from cover to cover is not enough. The Apostle stated that genuine, living faith transforms a person from the head to the heart, leading them to actively practice the word of God.

Giving us some Key Principles of an Active Faith, he stated:

1. Desire for Change: To experience healing or breakthrough, a person must first have a genuine internal desire to leave their current situation, rather than becoming comfortable in their suffering or reliance on others' sympathy.

2. Understanding God's Will: Faith is properly released and perfected when it aligns with an understanding of God's true will, rather than personal comfort or past missed opportunities.

3. Contentment and Commitment: Life is imperfect, but honoring commitments—especially in marriages and relationships—requires maturity, self-reflection from the very beginning, and carrying one's cross rather than constantly seeking something better.

4. A Higher Purpose: As illustrated by biblical figures like Abraham and Rahab, faith requires active obedience and, at times, prioritizing a higher divine purpose over lower, literal rules.

Concluding, Dr. Ferim emphasized that knowing the word alone is insufficient; it must be lived out. True faith is practiced through consistency, generosity, and kingdom service. He then commended the church for actively demonstrating this living faith through local and global outreach, including:

• Distributing school supplies, Thanksgiving turkeys, winter jackets, and shoes to those in need.

• Supporting global missions and maintaining resilient churches in South Africa, Nigeria, India, and the Philippines despite heavy cultural and financial challenges.

Our beloved apostle charged all believers never to grow weary of serving, giving, or attending church. The privilege of being used by God requires ongoing availability and fresh fire; if current believers grow tired or entitled, God will raise up someone else who is ready.

Chronicles of Faith Part 3 — Practical Faith Living in the Bible.

During today's message, our man of God, Apostle Dr. Richard Ferim, continued the series on Chronicles of Faith, giving us biblical principles to build what he described as Wild Faith, which is a faith that is fierce, active, and persistent trust in God, refusing to accept defeat. He began by using Abraham as the prototype for this faith—someone who trusted in a promise regardless of the physical reality. The Apostle contrasts this with a passive faith that simply resigns everything to the will of God without effort. Instead, Wild Faith requires being fierce when doors appear closed, seeking God until an answer is heard and realized.

Pointing out the generational nature of faith and using the examples of Isaac and Jacob, the Apostle explains that faith involves looking beyond the current state of one's children or circumstances—seeing a mighty army instead of just shepherd boys. This type of faith speaks life and blessings into the next generation with confidence, even when the speaker is at the end of their own life, as seen with Jacob and Joseph. It is a vision that extends beyond one's own lifespan, trusting that God’s promises will come to pass for those who follow.

Addressing the practical manifestation of faith in the New Testament, our man of God emphasizes that the sick must take the initiative to "call the elders," noting that the act of calling is a demonstration of faith. Furthermore, the Apostle explains that faith is something that can be perceived by others and must be built up internally while listening to the Word. The goal is to move past the "theory" of religion into "manifestation," where supernatural power results in tangible solutions, healings, and the opening of doors that were previously shut.

Finally, our Apostle challenges us to expand our expectations. Rather than merely praying for "daily bread" or things within our own financial ability, we believers are urged to trust God for things that are bigger than ourselves. This includes trusting the salvation of cities and nations, believing that God will provide a way of escape in every temptation, and joining together in a collective faith to see a supernatural impact on the world that cannot be achieved by human strength or resources alone.

Please join our weekly Bible studies on Thursdays at 7 p.m. CST and our Sunday services at 11 a.m. CST, located at 1900 W Arbrook Boulevard, Suite 122, Arlington, TX 75015.
