John Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Arlington, Texas
Originally St. John was named Mission Ridge. W. A. Williamson organized Mission Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The congregation used Little School or the building belonging to Tate Springs Baptist Church as assembly sites. The site for Mission Ridge was donated by Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Lotspeich and by March, 1913 a house of worship was built on the corner of Perkins and Pleasant Ridge Rd. A new sanctuary and classrooms were built in 1954. These were in use until the present sanctuary was erected in April, 1981 and the old sanctuary was turned into a fellowship hall and classrooms. After much prayer, in July, 1996 the members of Mission Ridge made the decision to change the name of the church to St. John. Now after 133 years of serving God and His people, we continue to walk with the Lord and reach out to all who would accept Christ and desire a personal relationship with Him.
