🎓📚 WEEK 1: TESTED!!

Today we kicked off our September sermon series with “Walk It Like You Talk It!” from 1 John 2:3-6, and John gave us our first test:

If you say you know Him, does your WALK agree with your TALK? 👀

Anybody can make a claim. But John teaches us that authentic faith comes with EVIDENCE.

Obedience doesn’t make us God’s children. Obedience is evidence that our relationship with God is changing the way we live.

And here’s the part I love: John isn’t looking for perfection. He’s looking for a pattern. 🙌🏾

We may stumble.
We may struggle.
We may get some answers wrong.
But when we truly know Him, we can’t become comfortable living in contradiction to Him.

Because ultimately, Jesus isn’t just the Teacher giving the test…

JESUS IS THE ANSWER KEY! 🔥

“He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.”
📖 1 John 2:6

So this week, don’t just TALK about love. Walk it.
Don’t just TALK about forgiveness. Walk it.
Don’t just TALK about obedience. Walk it.
Don’t just TALK about Jesus. Walk like Jesus

📚✏️ NEW SERMON SERIES THIS SEPTEMBER!

Remember when the teacher said, “Clear your desks. It’s time for a test”? 😩

Immediately, you started wondering:

Did I study enough?
Do I know the material?
Am I ready?
Am I going to pass?

But what if I told you that God doesn’t want you living your whole life wondering whether your faith is real?

In 1 John, we repeatedly find the phrase “By this we know…”

Not we think.
Not we hope.
Not we assume.

WE KNOW!

This September, we’re going back to school with a brand-new sermon series:

🎓 TESTED!!

We’re opening the book of 1 John and examining the evidence of authentic faith. We’ll talk about Assurance, Confidence, and Evidence and discover how God gives us ways to recognize that His work is really taking place in our lives.

INTERRUPTED, BUT NOT FINISHED! 🙌🏾

Israel failed.
The covenant was broken.
The tablets were shattered.
The conversation on Mount Sinai was interrupted.

But God wasn’t finished.

In Exodus 34, God calls Moses back up the mountain and says, “Be ready in the morning.”

I love that! 🙌🏾

Failure happened, but God was already talking about tomorrow.

God wouldn’t give Moses instructions for the morning if He were finished with him today.

And maybe that’s the word somebody needs right now:

Your failure may have interrupted some things, but it doesn’t mean God is finished with you.

If He’s still instructing you, He still has intention for you.

If He’s still calling you, He still has purpose for you.

If He’s telling you to get ready for morning, then what happened yesterday doesn’t get the final word.

What sin interrupted, mercy continued.

You may have been INTERRUPTED…BUT YOU’RE NOT FINISHED! 🙌🏾🔥
