I am not sure how many people have been paying attention to the NBA playoffs and the championship games over the past couple of months. Last night, Boston Celtics won the championship. Congratulations to the team and the organization.
The Celtics were truly the dominate team, but their ability to dominate on the court is not what has impressed me about this team, it is the Coach that has impressed me more than any of the players through it all. Coach Joe Mazzulla during his interviews has been strong in his answers to all his questions he has given, but what has really stood out, is his Faith in Christ. His humility and humbleness and just pure raw love for Christ has been awesome to watch and listen to.
Looking at his career even before being an NBA coach, I have learned that he is a man of Integrity, honor, and he is loyal when he promises something. He could have started his career in the NBA earlier, but because he promised Fairmont State to help them in a time of need, Coach Joe turned down the Assistant coaching job that was offered to him in 2018 by the Boston Celtics, and Danny Ange told him that coaching jobs only come around every once in a while. Coach Joe knew this was true and realized that he might not get the chance again and cried on his flight back home, but coach wanted to keep his promise that he had promised to Fairmont State.
In 2019, the offer to come to Boston once again came around, and this time Coach Joe took it, and in 2022, Boston Celtics announced him as the new Head coach for the team.
Last night, June 17th, 2024, Coach Joe Mazzulla is the youngest coach, at 35 to ever win the NBA championship. I am not a Celtics fan, but I truly respect this coach and how he has handled himself with the media and how he has been so bold to be honest about his faith. He might be a young coach, but he is seasoned in his faith and walk with Christ, and has proven to be an outstanding leader to his team. I believe we are getting ready to see a dynasty rise up in Boston with this coach.
Thank you Coach Joe Muzzulla for being faithful in who you are in Christ. Praying your leadership with be an inspiration to so many others.
