Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church welcomes people of all ages to worship, grow, connect, and serve. Peter’s Mission Prayer

Almighty and eternal God, you call us to be more than ourselves, so guide us to be like our patron St. Peter, the rock on whom you built your church. Grant us the courage and grace to pursue your kingdom and minister to the suffering, the friendless, and the needy. Where, with o

ne mind, one body, and one heart we are called together in Christ, transformed by God’s grace, and sent by the Spirit to serve, in order to make a world, a church, and a community where all are welcomed because all belong. All this we pray for the love of the one who calls us to follow the truth, the way, and the life, Jesus Christ. Peter’s is located in an historic area of Virginia close to the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. It is easily accessible by major roads and bus routes. Set on a wooded and tranquil site, St. Peter’s affords its members and others a quiet place to worship and meditate. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. We welcome those who wish to become involved in the life of the parish and, through it, the spiritual life of the community and the region.

You don't have to be a member to pull up a chair.

On June 14, we're spreading out across the back half of our five-acre wooded campus for the annual Parish Picnic — fried chicken, ice cream, lawn games, and a nature-based playground tucked into the trees.

Lunch runs 11:30 am–1:00 pm. Plenty of parking. Just follow the paths to the woods. Everyone is welcome at this table.

Last Sunday, we gathered around our graduating seniors — to honor them, bless them, and let them know what they have meant to us.

They have shown this community what it looks like to love like Jesus, to step into the unknown with grace, and to keep showing up even when life is hard. We are so grateful.

Congratulations, Class of 2026. You take our blessing with you. 🙏

Sunday morning, I watched something holy unfold at Saint Peter's.

Our young people led worship from start to finish — greeting people at the door, handing out bulletins, reading scripture, and offering prayers they wrote themselves. John Barker opened with Solfegietto by CPE Bach. The Saint Cecilia choir sang Brahms' We All Are God's Children.

Ginger Lewis, who is heading off to UVA, preached on lessons learned from God's call to Abram and his faithful response.

It takes a community to raise children. The flower guild, altar guild, ushers, Sunday school teachers, Sue Cromer (Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministry), Jim Selway (Director of Music), and clergy walked alongside them every step. That's how it works — the whole body of Christ, recognizing the gifts of every person in the community. We raise one another up into the full stature of Christ -- the young teaching elders just as much as elders teaching the young

This is what the capstone of a Sunday school year looks like at Saint Peter's. Joy. Celebration. Community.

On Sunday, one of our graduating seniors stepped into the pulpit and preached something worth listening to.

"Faith is not having every question answered, but trusting enough to take a step when much remains unclear." — Ginger Lewis, Youth Sunday 2026 🙏

In 1961, more than a hundred people gathered at a school in Arlington — no building, no land, no certainty about what came next. They simply believed something new was being called forth here.

Two years later, ground broke at 4250 North Glebe Road.
Tomorrow we hear Abraham's story. Called out of comfort. Sent into the unknown. Trusting only a promise.

Their story is our story. And there is a place for you in it.

Join us Sunday. 8:00 a.m. or 10:15 a.m.

Youth Sunday — Ginger Lewis preaches at both services.

How do we live out our Baptismal Covenant's call to "strive for justice and peace among all people"?

Saint Peter's will host "I Will, With God's Help: Engaging God's People in the Work of Racial Justice," a ministry training offered by the Arlington Region of the Diocese of Virginia.

This day of learning, reflection, conversation, and worship is designed for clergy, lay leaders, congregations, and all who seek to deepen their commitment to racial justice and healing. Participants will explore practical tools for ministry, engage in spirit-centered conversations about justice, and gather around the Eucharistic table.

Pause. Breathe. Pray.

This Saturday, June 6 at 5:00 PM, we're gathering in the Campbell Chapel for a Taizé Prayer Service — a quiet space of simple chant, candlelight, scripture, silence, and Holy Communion.

No preparation needed. No experience required. Come as you are and stay as long as you need.

You are welcome to sing, to listen, to light a candle, or simply to sit in the stillness.

In a world that rarely slows down, this is one hour set apart.
