Well all we will not be having a cook-off this year again. We really appreciate all who have checked on us to see. We really appreciate it and we do terribly miss having it and see you all. Good luck out there and God Bless!!!!

Hey y’all! Hope all of our friends, fans and cooks of the Knights of Columbus #6269 CARNIVORE COOKOFF are doing well and staying safe!
Some of you may have heard that we will not be having the Carnivore Cookoff this year, and unfortunately this is true 😢. This would have been our 15th year to host this great event, but the logistics, timing and manpower have made it difficult to have a successful event this year, and if we can’t do it right, we’d rather not do it at all.
We’ve heard from many of you that this event was one of your favorites to cook at. We prided ourselves of being well run, keeping it fun, and making the cooks, judges and fans feel at home. We deeply appreciate the kind words and the tremendous support that all of you have given us for so many years! With the help of all of you, we’ve been able to raise over $70,000 for Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Fort Worth, and for that we are most proud!
We are hoping for a reboot of this event starting in 2023, with new leadership backed by Cody Seals , Patric “Meat” Powell, and myself to help mentor our successors.
So stay tuned, good Lord willin’ we’ll be back next year! May God Bless all of you and keep y’all safe!

Sincerely,
David Lara

What a fantastic day of BBQ brotherhood at the 13th Knights of Columbus #6269 CARNIVORE COOKOFF in Arlington, TX, USA!!
We had 23 unveliebably talented teams, the best teams that were competing this weekend, and they all turned in some deeeelicious meats and beans!
Although we had a lot of our loyal teams who have been with us for a long time, a new team to Carnivore Cookoff ended up taking the Grand Champion. Congrats to Cameron West and West BBQ, our new GRAND CHAMPION for 2021! What a day he had for his first career GC!
Congrats to our old buddy Jim Oetting and Ottz BBQ for their RGC, it was very tight race, well deserved by both of these guys. Congrats to all who walked, it was truly a fantastic field of teams, tough, tough competition. Final tallies are below.

Thanks as always to the teams, judges, and all who helped today. Special recognition and the biggest thanks to my boys, Patric “Meat” Powell, “Cowboy” Cody Seals, Shad Dooley and my brutha Mike “Danny” Lara. I CAN NOT do this without these guys. Big thanks to the wonderful Brenda Waters, our head IBCA judge, she kept it rollin and on time!
Huge thanks to our sponsors, Ft Worth Community Credit Union, Mallery Family Dental, Belinda Lara CPA, Utility Sales Agents, St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Insurance, Tim Beary and Beary Nice Homes Realty, Huskie Tools, and Long Haul Trailers! The beautiful plaques were donated by Hank and Ellie, thanks they were great!

Please support these businesses, they have ensured year after year that the good people of Arlington/Mansfield can count on being served by Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Ft Worth. CCdFW lifts up many people who’ve had tough breaks, who are overcoming addiction, who may be new to our country, who may be needing help getting a job to feed their families, and so much more. It’s an honor to support such a worthy organization.

Good Lord willin, we will see y’all May 6-7, 2022! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Hey guys! Hope all of you are well. If we are able to host the Carnivore Cookoff in May, how many of you would plan on competing?

07/13/2020

Well, we gave it shot, we were in the process of putting things together for the weekend of 8/22, but unfortunately and understandably, IBCA is suspending sanctioning of any event until October. The Knights of Columbus #6269, and the directors of our Carnivore Cookoff have decided to hope for the best in 2021, and try again on our traditional date of the first weekend of May next year.

BBQ Teams: If you have already sent us a check, we will destroy it or send it back, whichever you prefer. Please send me a DM and let me know. If we don’t hear from you, the check will be shredded.

Sponsors: we will be giving you a call about options if you’ve already given us a check.

Our continued prayers are with each of you, teams, sponsors, judges, organizers, and supporters of the Carnivore Cookoff, and for our country as we continue to fight this virus. We miss seeing y’all and are looking forward to better times. Please take care of yourselves and your loved ones.

Hopefully we will see all of you 5/1/2021!

I hope this note finds all of our BBQ friends and your families in good health!

Here’s the latest info about the Carnivore Cookoff that was scheduled for 5/2/20. We will be postponing indefinitely. As much as we would like to try to reschedule the event for later this year, we are dealing with so many uncertainties, it’s near impossible to plan for all the what if’s. We have let IBCA know, and they are being very supportive and understanding. As I’ve said before, the safety and well-being of our members and friends is THE most important thing.
We will keep y’all updated on any changes, we will be meeting again in May and will have another update then.
Thanks for your understanding, may God Bless each of you and your families with good health and safety.

Hey guys, hope all of you are well and staying safe. Some of you have been asking about whether or not the Carnivore Cookoff will be cancelled. As of right now, we are 50/50 on making it happen.
As many of you know, many of our members and public who attend are some of the most vulnerable to this disease. Any decision of whether or not to have the Cookoff will be based on what’s best for them, period.
I feel it is still too early to cancel, but we will just have to wait and see what the future brings.
Be safe, and God Bless each of you.
