Delight! Gladness! One who rejoices! Those words are the Greek meaning of JOY. Those words describe how God views you!! Those word describe in part of how Jesus persevered, remained, endure the cross, because of you!! Because of "the JOY set before Him" Heb. 12:2! Accept and hold on to that truth; you are God's delight! You are God's joy! God rejoices over you! Jesus endured the cross set before Him because of the love and joy for YOU!!
Join us Sunday at 10 am as we continue in Hebrews 12.

Hebrews 11, known as the "By Faith" chapter of the Bible, gives us a list of many people used by God to accomplish extraordinary things for Him. The Lord used people who battled fear, uncertainty, lust, pride, but they conquered kingdoms, administered justice . . . "whose weakness was turned to strength" vs. 34! As written in 1 Corinthians 1:25-29 "God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in this world to shame the wise; God chose what is low, and despised in the world. . . ".
You may feel you are not worthy of accomplishing much for the Lord, or maybe when you're life is all perfect you'll start attending church or talk to that friend about God; but God wants you! He wants your heart! 1 Samuel 16:7b "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart"!

Which valley are you in today? In Psalm 23:4 "Even though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, I will fear no evil, for YOU are with me . . . ". II Chronicles 20:26 " . . . in the Valley of Beracah (blessing), for there they blessed the Lord."
There are different valleys mentioned in the Bible, and there are different times in our life when we are in one of those valleys. But no matter which valley you are in, remember, God will NEVER leave you nor will He forsake you!! Believe in the Lord, praise Him and give thanks for His steadfast love that endures forever ( II Chron, 20:20-21), even when you feel you are in the Shadow of Death, you can still be in the Valley of Blessing by praising the Lord through His promises!

The Chapel will be open from 7:00pm to 8:00pm tomorrow night; if you would like to come by for a time of personal reflection. It's a time to just sit quietly in His presence, reflect on His sacrifice and pray. The elements of communion will be available during this time.

We will never forget that day, nor the days that followed. We will never forget the 43 souls taken suddenly. We will never forget the first responders that gave of themselves to rescue survivors and the countless hours they gave to account for the missing. We will never forget the generosity of neighbors, friends and strangers that gave so much of their time and resources. WE WILL NEVER FORGET!
