HS RETREAT CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER AND DANGEROUS GROUND CONDITIONS.

Rain rain go away – come again another day.

We’ve been monitoring the weather closely for this weekend and unfortunately, due once again to the very high chances of rain, we are going to cancel High School Retreat. The conditions at Mt. Lebanon are not good for camping as of today, and with more rain expected they will not improve.

We will be issuing refunds for all payments next week (checks will be cut on Wednesday and should be in the mail by Thursday).

We will be going to Mansfield Paintball Adventure Park (1600 Ousley Road Mansfield, Texas 76063) on Sunday afternoon (October 21). Our arrival time is 1:15pm for check-in and getting geared up, so if your student would like to come with us we would love to have them! Cost is $20 per person.

***There is a paper waiver that must be filled out and signed by a parent for each student participating**** We will have the paper waivers during check-in at the paintball park if you are bringing your student. You can also access the waiver online at

If you download and complete it at home it is vital that every line be filled out (whether it is just information, initials or a signature).

See You At The Pole - Wednesday pray for your school at the flag pole before first bell. Get some friends - ask God to move in your, your friends, your nonfriends, teachers, coaches, staff and beyond. Ask God for big things: healing, hope, freedom, forgiveness, courage to do what’s right, to love all people selflessly & generously like Jesus.

All City Worship - Wednesday 6:15-8:15 at Rush Creek Green Oaks Campus. Worship, pizza, & over 1000 people that want to hear, know, and see God move in our lives and city!

HS RETREAT POSTPONED:

We have been monitoring the forecasted weather for this coming weekend. Due to high percentages of rain and inclement weather, we are going to be postponing the HS Retreat.

We have rescheduled for October 19th-20th. If you are unable to attend on these days – we will issue a refund. You will need to email [email protected] and let us know. We will keep registration online until a week before the event for those that may be able to join us for this new date.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding as we desire to put the safety of all students and leaders involved as a top priority. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Three Things This Week from AXIS

1. “Epidemic Proportions”

What it is: The FDA is cracking down on e-cigarette and v**e sellers because their research shows that “e-cigs have become an almost ubiquitous—and dangerous—trend among teens.”

Why it's a reminder: In an undercover blitz, the FDA sent 1,300 warning letters and fines to retailers, saying it “might consider taking e-cigarettes off the market if makers don’t do more to stop exponential sales to teenagers.” CEO of nonprofit The Truth Initiative urged the FDA to move faster, saying, “The time for action is before a product is in every high school in the United States, not after.” And since many of the devices look like USB drives, it’s possible they are in every high school already. Have your kids tried va**ng? Are you sure? Even if they haven’t yet, they will probably be asked to soon. Make sure your kids know you’re on their side, then talk through the risks of va**ng/juuling.
