Lord God, we pray for a more excellent way, a way of peace, a way of healing. Help us to be your living love in this troubled world. Amen.

Sit with us in this space today. Bring your grief, fear, anger, numbness, shock, sadness.

Lay it before the feet of God.

Let us not rush past grief. Let us not rush to anger. Let us not rush to retribution.

On this anniversary of 9/11, in the wake of weeks of recent violence across our nation, might we pray to God for a more excellent way: a way of peace, a way of healing, and a way of love.

"They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." Isaiah 2:4
