Youth/Associate Pastor Job Description
Crestview Missionary Baptist Church is seeking a Youth/Associate Pastor who senses a clear calling to youth ministry and is committed to serving the church’s mission with spiritual maturity, enthusiasm, and flexibility. This role may be bi-vocational, but the ministry assignment is expected to remain a priority.
The Youth/Associate Pastor will provide leadership in youth ministry while also supporting the broader pastoral work of the church. This role includes discipling students, strengthening relationships with families, assisting the Senior Pastor in ministry leadership, and serving the congregation through teaching, outreach, and pastoral care as needed.
Qualifications
• Must be a born-again, baptized believer.
• Must agree with the church’s statement of faith and ABA doctrine.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Preference may be given to a married candidate.
• Must be willing to join Crestview Missionary Baptist Church after a trial period.
Key Responsibilities
• Work closely with and report directly to the Senior Pastor, supporting the overall ministry vision, direction, and leadership of the church.
• Develop and lead a family-oriented youth ministry for high school students and, as needed, junior high students, with an emphasis on discipleship, evangelism, and spiritual growth.
• Teach and coordinate youth classes, Bible studies, and ministry activities, including Sunday School, Wednesday evening programs, Vacation Bible School, Discovery, camp, and related events.
• Assist the Senior Pastor in pastoral ministry responsibilities as needed, which may include visitation, counseling, follow-up ministry, outreach efforts, and occasionally filling the pulpit.
• Provide pastoral care and spiritual guidance to youth, families, and church members through discipleship, encouragement, counseling, and prayer.
• Maintain strong communication with parents, students, church leadership, volunteers, and the congregation regarding ministry activities, schedules, and needs.
• Recruit, train, support, and oversee volunteer workers serving in youth and related ministry areas.
• Partner with the education department and other church leaders to help strengthen the church’s teaching, ministry programs, and outreach to families.
• Attend all regular church services, scheduled meetings, ministry events, and outreach opportunities as an engaged member of the pastoral team.
• Model faithful Christian character, stewardship, and service while helping cultivate unity, spiritual maturity, and ministry involvement within the church body.
Employment Terms: The position includes a 90-day trial period, followed by an evaluation to determine continued service and any needed modifications to the role. If hired beyond probation, the position will be reviewed annually.
