This afternoon Bishop Kevin Strickland presided over Living Word's Service of Leave Taking. He had an uplifting message for us and communion was served one more time. Attendance was great with many people from Living Word's past and sister congregations attending. It's been a wonderful 61 years. ❤️

A banquet was held tonight at Coletta's restaurant near Bartlett to celebrate 61 years of Living Word. It was a fun night of fellowship and reminiscing - everyone had a chance to share special memories before our final service tomorrow afternoon.

These baptism banners have names of those baptized at the church, at least since 1985. We have 3 banners; I think one is missing. Many who follow Living Word on Facebook will be able to find their names or those of family members on these banners. They will be placed in Living Word archives.

As we approach the closing date of our church (1-26-25), we are enjoying lots of good memories from Living Word's rich 61-year history.

Our Service of Holy Closure will be on Sunday, January 26, at 3pm at the church, with Bishop Kevin Strickland presiding. All are invited!

It was a bittersweet day at Living Word as we decorated our Chrismon tree one last time. We celebrated with sandwiches and Christmas cookies afterwards.
