What are you holding onto that you could lose? Pastor Charlie walked us through Ecclesiastes 2:18-26 this morning with a powerful reminder: you will always lose when you put your hope in things you can lose.

Solomon's testimony is raw and honest. Wisdom, success, work, legacy -- none of it ultimately satisfies. But the preacher does not leave us there. He turns toward something better: contentment found in God when things are in their proper place.

As Paul Tripp puts it, contentment is the settled confidence that God is enough, God is good, and God is faithfully providing what I need for his purposes. That is the invitation this morning -- not to despair over what is fragile, but to rest in the One who is not.

God is more than enough. Your satisfaction is found in your Savior, not your success.

The spiritual lesson here is not that joy is an illusion, but that the gifts of this world were never meant to replace the Giver. When good things become ultimate things, they quietly become the very source of our emptiness. We are wired for something deeper than any earthly pleasure can reach, and that ache inside us is not a flaw. It is an invitation.
