"Makarios" (blessed) means the happiness of joyful flourishing, not superficial happiness or comfort. This joyful, flourishing life in Jesus is a powerful, attractive, winsome witness to our God who blesses. In Park Springs, you and I and all of us, we're called to be a city on a hill full of lights.

Perhaps most liberating is the image of our spiritual growth as a coil rather than a straight upward line—we're always moving forward with Jesus, even when we're at the bottom of the spiral. It's precisely in those low moments that Jesus does some of His best work, forming us into His image and teaching us what genuine flourishing looks like.

Today, we take a moment to honor the ultimate sacrifice of those who have given their last full measure of devotion. Lord, we lift up the families of the fallen, who have borne the weight of their loss with courage and strength. We pray for Your comfort and peace to surround them, to bring solace to their hearts, and to guide them through the darkest of times. May their loved ones be remembered for their bravery, and may their legacy live on in our hearts forever.

The gospel is for all nations and all generations, and so is the church. We're reminded that salvation comes by grace through faith alone, and if that was sufficient for us, it's sufficient for anyone. The nations aren't just far away—they're in our neighborhoods, our schools, our workplaces. The question remains: will we hesitate, or will we invite others into the family of God with the same grace that welcomed us?
