“As a mother comforts her son, so will I comfort you” (Isaiah 66:13).

“Do not fear for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).

Whatever you are going through right now, God is with you and will and can help you right now! Just call out to God and trust in Him.

As we come to the Thanksgiving holiday, sometimes it’s hard to feel thankful especially if you are experiencing a difficult time in your life. However, it will be helpful if you can just pause a few moments and begin to think of things you are thankful for, even if they seem like “little” things. We all have something we can be thankful about. Focus for the next couple of days on thos things.

“And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes will have eternal life in Him. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.” (John 3:14-17)

“Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” (James 1:2-4)

"For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory. 18 So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:17-18 CSB)

Look at these amazing verses! Our hurting, suffering and affliction is described as "momentary" and "light". It sure doesn't seem that way many times! It often seems as if our suffering is more than we can bear and will never end. However, when you compare your suffering, no matter how bad it is, to what awaits those who believe and trust in Jesus as their Savior when they get to heaven, it is only momentary and light. The glory that awaits believers in heaven is much greater than any hurting or suffering you may endure in this life! As well, this verse tells us that the greater the suffering in this life, the greater the glory you will experience in heaven!!

You see, it's all about perspective. You can't look at your hurting and suffering with your "earthly" eyes. You must look at your suffering with your "heavenly" eyes. Don't focus on the beginning but the end. Look at what your hurting is producing.

Remember. There is a God who loves you, knows you and cares about you!

Major League Baseball got a new home-run king this week. Yankee slugger Aaron Judge is also a devout Christian, and his personal story of faith and adoption is right at the center of his remarkable journey.

“For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.” (Jeremiah 29:11-12)

Father God, I pray for those who are hurting today. Too often it seems as if the struggles and worries of life are far more than we can stand, and they often paralyze our lives. I ask that you give the hurting wisdom for how to deal with the struggles of their lives. I pray, Father, that you would send peace and comfort into their lives. We are so thankful that we can always turn to you for help and hope. We thank you that you love us and want the best for us. Help us O God to get through today. Thank you that you hear and answer our prayers. In the name of Jesus, we ask these things. Amen.

There is a lot of pain and suffering in life. The old saying is, "There are two certainties in life: death and taxes." I would add a third certainty to that list -- suffering. No one is exempt from hurting and suffering. Sometimes it seems as if we are just coming out of a time of trial when we are hit by another! The good news is there is help and hope in the suffering of life! There are many lessons we can learn from our trials. This page will seek to provide ways suffering and hurting can be dealt with. Stay tuned for future messages!!
