This Sunday is Homecoming Sunday! And what a Sunday it will be as we kick off a new year of ministry together. We all need one another this Sunday, and we need you to bring friends and family members with you who would be blessed by Southminster’s ministry and community of faith. The dress code is Hawaiian/Tropical, and the more sensational the better!

Our theme this fall is God Gives the Growth, and it’s taken from I Corinthians 3:6 and 9:
I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. For we are God’s coworkers, working together; you are God’s field, God’s building.

Fall officially begins on Tuesday, September 22nd, but this Labor Day weekend is the practical and emotional change of seasons. Even now most schools have already begun and we will officially kick off our year of ministry together on Homecoming Sunday, September 13th. So, enjoy this weekend as we reflect on the summer of 2026 and, if you’re able, do that with us in church this Sunday.

We’ll share the sacrament of Life and Love at the table of our Lord and conclude our Summer Series with one last question that comes to us from Janine Milner:
What is Heaven in the Bible and for you?
Will we be reunited with our relatives, friends, and loved ones?

Shoes go to Share Your Soles, DSW and an Indian Reservation!

Types of shoes to donate?
Any type or size. This includes athletic shoes, sandals, school shoes, dress shoes, work shoes, snow boots, flip flops, walking shoes, slippers, soccer cleats, football cleats, wrestling shoes, high heels, etc. The need for children’s shoes is always the greatest. Within reason, we can use any shoes no matter what condition as long as the soles are fairly good.

ONE OF THE BIGGEST NEEDS IS FOR SOCCER CLEATS.

Southminster is now officially an inclusive, welcoming, and affirming church. What does that mean, specifically? What does the Book of Order of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) have to say about the participation of LGBTQIA+ people in the life of the church?

This is a crucial topic for our life together, as well as for our faith. I’m looking forward to offering my perspective on these foundational questions. Please join us! 10AM online or in-person.
