Viatorians

Viatorians The Clerics of St. Viator (Viatorians) is an international Roman Catholic religious congregation comprised of religious brothers and priests.

We are professed brothers and priests and women and men lay associates, proclaiming Christ and the Gospel and raising communities where faith is lived, deepened, and celebrated. The Viatorian Community is the larger inclusive body which includes our lay associates, women and men committed to sharing in the ministry and community life of the Viatorians. We proclaim Jesus Chri

st and His Gospel and raise communities where faith is lived, deepened, and celebrated. We are committed to serving the holy altar and teaching the faith, which happens largely in parishes and schools as well as other ministries focused on serving youth and accompanying communities who society tries to account of little importance.

Vatican II gave us the wonderful phrase "the People of God," a way to inclusively encompass all the baptized. In this spirit, we embrace an expansive vision of ministry. Is God inviting you to be a Viatorian?

We strive to serve those who are underserved, and for the 10th year, Viatorians assisted neighbors in need with free tax prep and filing, serving a record-high in NW Chicago this year.

Viatorians serving as tax preparation volunteers in Chicago helped their team serve a record-high amount of neighbors this year. In our tenth year in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program through our services based at St. Viator Church, Viatorians and our partners served 131 neighbors,....

When Saint Viator faculty was asked to choose a colleague who reflects the values of Fr. Querbes, the vote ended in a tie: on Br. Rob and Fr. Jhobany! And as Br. Rob winds down 25 years of service, President Ryan Aiello added one more special recognition, too.

As our Viatorian schools celebrate graduates and outstanding students, it’s also a time to celebrate faculty and staff. At Saint Viator High School, the vote by faculty and staff for the Fr. Louis Querbes Award added up to a tie between two colleagues: Br. Rob Robertson, CSV, and Fr. Jhobany Orduz...

Over the past week, Viatorians took part in Baccalaureate Masses and commencement ceremonies St. Viator Catholic Community Parish School, Bishop McNamara Catholic School, Saint Viator High School, Cristo Rey St. Viator College Preparatory, and Cristo Rey St. Martin. Congrats, Class of 2026!

“Jesus tells you, ‘You are the light of the world. Let your light shine before others.’ You all receive a commission to be this important light,” Fr. Jhobany Orduz, CSV, said in his Baccalaureate Mass homily for Saint Viator High School’s Class of 2026.

On May 1, with the feast of St. Joseph the Worker, we celebrate Religious Brothers Day. We especially invite your prayers this month for our Viatorian brothers, who model fidelity for us in their vocations to brotherhood.

Our Colombian brothers sustain great outreach around Bogotá and beyond, especially accompanying young men discerning religious life. We thank Fr. Juan Carlos for his direction for Viatorianos Colombia as he passes the torch to Fr. John Alexander!

Last weekend, Viatorians hosted seven discerners for a vocational encounter at a retreat house in Bogotá. The weekend included prayer, Eucharistic Adoration, and Mass, and the activities helped them explore their spirituality, personal lives, and mental health. Fr. Juan Carlos Ubaque, CSV, and Fr. ...

This summer/fall, 17 new associates will join the Viatorian Community, and 17 associates will recommit. These vocations bring us close to 100 American associates and puts us into triple digits for associates in our province. Thanks be to God!

The Viatorian charism of the Venerable Louis Querbes continues to inspire vocations: this summer and fall in the United States, 17 Viatorian associates will recommit to association, and 17 new associates will make their initial commitments. The US will have nearly 100 associates, and the total in ou...
