Text of Resignation Letter:
September 22, 2025
First Baptist Church
Murfreesboro, Arkansas
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
After prayer and consideration, it is time with the leadership of The Lord to submit my resignation as interim pastor of the church effective at the close of Wednesday night Bible Study, September 24, 2025.
Thank you for the opportunity to once again serve you after many years. The ten years that I spent as your pastor (1983 - 1993) were long ago, but the excitement I brought to you back in May was as great as back in 1983. After many months of physical, social, spiritual, and personal challenges, I needed you as much as you needed me. It was good to renew old friendships and make new ones.
I hope that you will member the themes of cooperation and faithfulness (in worship, discipleship, fellowship, stewardship, and ambassadorship) and practice them in these trying days.
I pray for the best for you and your next pastor (whoever and whenever that may be).
If I may be of service in the future, please do not hesitate to call upon me.
