Do you ever turn on the news and the first thing you hear is stories about sexual abuse, murder, or theft? What about your social media? It is just as bad about sharing horror stories too. And just turning on the television in general we have stories of serial killers, cults, terrorism, abuse or so many other vile things. Even our movies are focused on evil anymore. Think about movies such as Seven, The Silence of the Lambs, The Vanishing, Natural Born Killers, Alien, or Gretel and Hansel to name a few. A lot of our books are even going to the dark side. There are many series of books written on true crime or fiction these days that are full of wickedness. This list of dark entertainment could go on and on with their twists of mystery, blood, guts, and horror. But also, what dark minds write these types of stories or create these kind of movies? How do these theatrics affect the readers or those watching? Do they teach a lesson for God or is the devil winning his case to destroy our relationships with Jesus?

Throughout scripture darkness symbolizes sin and its effects. There is nothing beneficial, productive, or holy when dealing with the darkness. There is no harmony between God and the devil. After all, God being the light always drowns out the darkness of the devil.

Scripture warns us time and again not to engage in unrighteousness or dark activities. We are to distance ourselves from sinful entertainment, because they often have hidden agendas or lack any spiritual value for a lasting benefit. This tactic by the devil is meant to infiltrate our minds and thoughts to distract us from what is good and right. When these negative actions are brought into the light of God, their dark intent becomes visible for all to see. We do not need to publically shame someone, but we do need to call someone out when their bad behavior is causing a negative effect on others. Reject the bahavior but do not disown the people. Use the opportunity to lead them to God. And when calling them out, be stern, but do it with compassion, kindness, and gentleness. Use the character of Jesus in this conversation of correction. Stand on your faith. Lead by the example He set before us.

This specific verse of Ephesians 5:11 is calling believers to have spiritual discernment and the courage to actively confront and reveal sin for what it is. Call it out! But be nice! Promote the truth of God. He gave us a choice in all that we do, which means when certain words or actions are morally wrong, worthless, and of no good, we are to speak against it. Do not participate in these evil activities. Even if it means changing friendships, turning off social media, or changing locations.

This passage also reminds us that these sinful, pointless, and morally wrong actions and behaviors are to be avoided at all costs. God commands us to have no association, involvement, or partnership in any dark, sinful activity. The works of the darkness offered by the devil is not fruitful, but the things of God bring eternal life. Jesus said in John 8:12 “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” We must let our good deeds shine brightly for everyone to see, so that everyone will praise our Heavenly Father. As our childrens so g says, we must be that little lamp that is not hidden under that bushel. Do not be scared to share the Truth of the Gospel.

We encourage you to visit a Bible driven church this Sunday morning at 11a.m. to share your light. ✝️✝️✝️

09/20/2025

Some folks believe there really is 365 “Do Not Be Afraid” quotes in scripture to give us one for every day of the year. This phrase is a recurring and central theme in scripture. There are many phobias surrounding the word “fear” and when God created us, our brains were wired with some aspect of fear.

Being afraid or fearful, is meant to be words of encouragement to remind us that God is in control with all the answers. We do not need to depend on our own resources or other people. He is our assurance and protection in all things. Jesus even reminded us at least 3 times in scripture to “Be not afraid”. We seen this in Matthew 17:7 at His transfiguration, in Matthew 14:27 when He walked on water, and in John 20:19 after His resurrection. He spends part of His time reminding us that fear is not from God, for He is with us always.

If we admit it, fear can paralyze us. It creates massive anxiety and worry in many of us and let us not forget the dread of what is to come. But God provides His presence, protection, and promises to every part of our lives. He is our strength and peace in all situations and challenges. He is our hope in all controversy; therefore, we should not be afraid of anything.

If we step out on faith, we can step away from the broken world. It is about cultivating our own faith such as studying Gods Word, trusting His promises, and seeking His guidance through prayer. We must know our fears and give them to God. Taking these actions will break down those negative barriers of fears and doubts. When we acknowledge our fears in prayer to God, He claims them by taking all their power away.

Moses overcame fear through trust. Jonah finally faced his fear head on in the belly of a whale. Ananias faced Saul, healing him to prove the powerful tool of leadership. Peter denied Jesus 3 times before the rooster crowed, yet he would become one of the greatest disciples. So, Moses, Jonah, Ananias, and Peter all overcame their fears to make significant impacts on the Kingdom of God. If we face our fears, we make these same differences. It takes faith and courage on our part. God is not going to chastise us for being fearful. He will be compassionate and loving while calming our heartstrings and mind. He is going to speak gentle words of encouragement to us.

Does this mean life will be easy and that we will never have reason to be fearful? No. Life is always going to be hard and full of painful, disconcerting circumstances. We may lose our jobs or get sick. Our family or friends may leave us or die. We might be experiencing civil unrest or war. But this has happened since creation and will continue till Jesus returns. We can always take comfort in those four powerful little words “Do Not Be Afraid”. Through these trials and tribulations, we will know that we remain in His constant presence and everlasting love. Jesus is there to speak to us in even the darkest of moments. He is not going to leave you alone. He is there walking in the trenches carrying us all the way. ✝️✝️✝️

Do not be afraid to visit a church this Sunday at 11 a.m. come on out to see what else the Bible has to say!

We all have our mountains that become insurmountable and unavoidable problems in life. These could be in the form of such things as family issues, health problems, financial strain, work drama, sexual sin, gambling, alcoholism, drug addiction and so many more things we may encounter in life. Human nature begins to dig slowly through each of these situations, but we feel like we are not making any progress. When our shovel digs, more crap falls in around us. But what we fail to realize is that man cannot move mountains. Only God can.

God will perform miracles in our lives, but He expects us to do our part. We must put in some work and effort rather than just waiting around on Him to create a miracle in our life. God will not just grant miracles or wishes. He will enable us to be a part of the answer. This idea combines our faith in Gods ability with our willingness to act. We must be willing to do the footwork with the resources He provides. He will get the job done with His divine intervention while we shovel with our faith in action.

With God nothing is impossible as stated in Luke 1:37. So, when we spend time praying or communicating with Him, we move our train of thought from the physical realm to the spiritual realm. God does not physically move the mountain but our faith in His power trumps the impossible and that is when we witness something wonderful. Mark 11: 22-23 reminds us with Jesus own words, “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whatsoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatever he saith.”

God could have sent the Israelites from Egypt to the Promise Land in the snap of a finger. God could have knocked down the walls of Jericho and rebuilt Jerusalem instantly. God could have killed the prophets of Baal first thing, but the people would not have witnessed His power. God could have let the lion eat Daniel in the den, but He needed the king to see Daniel walk out alive. God could easily take away all our challenges and predicaments, but what would we learn from each situation if we do not work for it. Life is not all about trophies and everyone can’t be first. But no matter our placement, we must always put God first. Then all the holes we have created in our lives will be less difficult to dig out of. ✝️✝️✝️

We encourage you to start “digging” into the Word. Build on your relationship with Jesus. Then you will not have to be buried alive in frustration, anger, or distress. Visit a church this Sunday. It does not matter where you go or how your dressed. God just wants you in worship with Him and His other children. Hope to see you somewhere this Sunday at 11 a.m. as we watch God move mountains in our lives together.

09/06/2025

A lot of us yearn for detailed information from our past, such as our family experiences, our kin’s history, why or how did certain events shape our past relative’s life. We want to know our elders childhood stories, their first loves, what they did to make a living, and all their life adventures. How did they survive wars? What did they do in economic hardships or depressions? How did Gramps and Gram meet? Has our family always been close or do we have family outcasts? Where did grandmas famous cookie recipe originate? Did Grandpa build the favorite family rocking chair? Did our grandparents own a sizable farm or work in the public? What role did church play in their lives? These stories and many more can be humorous and enlightening, but our past generations perspectives and relationships have greatly influenced our own narratives in life.

Grandparents teach children the significance of family bonds and the value of spending time with loved ones. They instill a sense of belonging and remind us of the importance of cherishing family relationships. This generation provides all of us with unconditional love, emotional support, and how to appreciate the simple things in life. While a lot of the time spent with the grandchildren is mostly fun and games, the grandparents have a vital role as a spiritual leader within their family dynamics. They are to pass down their faith and heritage to their children’s children. They are to teach Gods Word, share stories of faith from their own experiences, and set an example of living for Christ.

Grandparents leave a lasting impact and positive influence behind for future generations, extending way beyond their lifetime of spiritual deeds, accomplishments, memories, or valuables they have passed along to future generations. Proverbs 13:22 reminds us that “a good person leaves an inheritance to his children’s children,”. Another words, the older generations should leave financial, moral, and most of all a spiritual legacy.

To prosper in life and to be faithful, we must turn away from sin or it will lead to potential loss of blessings. Gram and Gramps are to teach through generational blessings where God loves those who love and obey Him. A person who lives humbly and practices generosity in life, benefits their family for generations. Legacy is not all about material wealth but spiritual wealth for the Kingdom of God such as stated in Proverbs 20:7 “The righteous man walks in integrity; his children are blessed after him.” How we all live affects those that follow. This is how we will be remembered in future generations. Even Deuteronomy 6:7 reminds us that we must inspire future generations with the Word of God. Make it a central part of our lives and pass the knowledge on to our future grandchildren.

So, as we celebrate Grandparents Day this Sunday, let us reflect on the impact our grandparents and former generations touched on our lives. And if you are a grandparent, how will you engage your grandbabies with the Gospel? We have always heard, be careful of what you say or do because someone else is watching. Well, those most often watching are the ones we are closest too. What sort of example are we gonna be? Will we captivate our grandchildren with enchanting stories from the Word of God? Are we going to leave them with stories of how God stirred our heart through the years? Let us leave future generations enthralled in the scripture and inspired by the positive way we have lived our life in Christian obedience and faith. Then we can say we have left a real inheritance as a grandparent. ✝️✝️✝️

We hope to see you in church somewhere this Sunday morning at 11 a.m. It does not matter where you go as long as you go! And while you are at it, make a point to recognize that special grandparent in your life. Tell them Thank You for a life well-lived and for the example they have set in your family’s life….HAPPY GRANDPARENTS DAY!

Every superhero or character has a favorite weapon. For instance, Zeus has a Lightning Bolt. Thor has a Hammer. King Arthur has the Excalibur. Batman has Batarangs. Captain America has a special Shield. Or Wonder Woman has the Lasso of Truth. The weapons a mythical hero chooses to wield says a lot about their values, unique gifts, and powers. What makes these weapons special is how they are used to defeat the evils of life. This is no different from beating the devil!

When we are knowledgeable about the scripture, we are not vulnerable to Satan’s deception. John 8:44 reminds us that Satan is the “father of all lies and Revelation 12:9 says he is the “deceiver of the world”. One of his favorite tactics is to trick us in anyway that he can. And when we let our pride and ego get in the way, this is the worst! It will not allow us to submit to God or receive His Word. This puts us well down the path to full ignorance!

Have you ever noticed when you come to the “Y” in the road that there is two different directions you can go? Well, think of that “Y” being one direction leading to Jesus and the other to Satan. Daily we must choose the direction we want to follow. If we choose Jesus, then Satan cannot discourage us or lead us astray. Satan will lead us to people that will satisfy our ideas, thoughts, and desires causing us to turn away from sound doctrine. He is continually tempting us with immoral pleasures, worldly treasures, and envy. It makes us joyless and very often leaves us in a state of confusion with what he brings to the table. He literally loves everything negative and the opposite of what our Father in Heaven offers.

The most powerful weapon ever known to man is the Word of God. We will not be left defenseless if we dig deep into Gods Word, spend time in worship, and pray constantly. In this mighty book it contains the weapons needed to defeat anything the Devil throws at us. The Bible is our sword! And it is to be constantly wielded against the Devil and his nonsense! Our battle is the Lords and when we speak His Word over the Devil, all of Heaven agrees and rejoices with us.

The Bible provides us with our wardrobe. We must clothe ourselves in the Armor of God (Ephesians 6:13-18), submitting to Him while resisting the Devil. This allows us the opportunity to acknowledge the reality of the struggles of spiritual warfare, repent of our sins, and identify our spiritual enemy. This makes Jesus Lord over everything in life and it shields us from the Devil.

Sadly, the people of today are much like those the Lord Himself spoke of in Hosea 4:5-6. They stumbled around day and night right along with the priests of the day. They were destroyed by their lack of knowledge. They were spiritually ignorant. The people lacked the understanding of spiritual truths, principles, and realities. They became totally disconnected from God, wallowing in major sins and unable to find a true since of purpose. The people were suffering destruction and ruin due to their willful ignorance or rejection of Gods Word and commands. This separated them from God and His guidance resulting in harmful consequences to individuals and groups. This makes the true knowledge of God of utmost importance and vital to every human. Knowledge of the details contained within the Bible helps us to avoid destructive choices. This action is not just a lack of information but is a deliberate turning away from the Gospel.

The Bible is at everyone’s fingertips, if not in a book but online and by phone apps. There is a church on every corner to visit for worship. There are radio stations and TV channels with Christian programming. There are activities and events at churches all across the countryside to be involved with fellow believers. There are places of service for every person to be involved in promoting the Kingdom of God. Whatever the notion, we do not have to be ignorant of the knowledge of God. He surrounds us in every aspect of life to keep us educated. It is up to us to make Satan rue the day of trying to infiltrate our hearts and minds with his evil presence and ideas. Wield Gods Sword of the Spirit right now! Let it punch old Satan in the face! Show him how powerful gods weapon is in your life and watch how Satan is defeated through your knowledge of Gods power.

We encourage you to make church part of your family’s holiday weekend activities this week. Rather than letting Satan beat up on you, why don’t you join Gods people at 11 a.m. Sunday morning and grow in the knowledge of God. ✝️✝️✝️

Stay safe, healthy and Happy Labor Day everyone!!

08/24/2025

We have all had moments in life when we felt like people looked upon us as if we were nuts. Or maybe we looked at others for being nuts. Either way, sometimes what others perceive as crazy or foolish, can sometimes lead to success, while relying on one’s expertise or personal wisdom could lead to failure. For instance, the Titanic was a marvel of engineering built by some of our greatest professionals in life. But the Titanic would meet its disaster because of pride and poor decisions. These experienced individuals failed because they let their pride, arrogance and lack of humility cloud their judgment. They had the technical skill to make the ship float, but it became a fatal disaster when the media and the ship captain said such things as “Not even God Himself could sink this ship” or its “practically unsinkable”. People of the time believed its construction was so advanced that not even the power of nature could harm it. But they quickly learned they were too overconfident for their own good.

While on the other hand, Noah was instructed by God to build the Ark to survive the Great Flood. He acted on faith and through obedience while others mocked him. He pursued the vision God set before him though it was met with ridicule. His commitment was to a higher purpose instead of conventional expertise which can be fallible. The Ark was successful because of its divine calling of Noah and his strong conviction to follow God. Due to Noah’s faithfulness, we can understand Gods judgment on the wickedness that surround him, and His grace that was provided to anyone that would follow God. Noah’s family learned the importance of trusting Gods plans and how He keeps His covenant promises.

Noah faced daily scrutiny from his culture and fellow man. But his family trudged forward through adversity trusting in Gods guidance. Family and community is very important to God. Because of their unity and support of each other as a family unit, God saved Noahs family by grace to live and repopulate the earth. But something else of importance came from the construction of the Ark. It became the location of the presence of God (Exodus 25:8). It was a symbol of salvation with the door representing Jesus who is the only way to salvation, and the Ark itself symbolizing refuge from Gods wrath and judgment.

As we think about these two big ol’ boats, let us be reminded of their differences and similarities and how people met their fate. With the Ark, God was grieving widespread corruption and the violence of humanity. For this reason, He brought judgment on earth with a global flood by only saving eight people to replenish the earth. This was an indication of His mercy. But with the Titanic we can visualize Proverbs 16:18 “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” These people became vulnerable to God when they became self-important. Their pride brought them negative consequences and downfall. Hence, we can learn from both stories the importance of allowing God to guide our way no matter what the world thinks. The only one we should ever answer to is God. What He thinks and what He says matters. Not what anyone else says or thinks. We must always involve God in our decision making. Allow Him to be our constant direction. After all, He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6).

Looking forward to seeing your family in church tomorrow somewhere at 11 a.m. Its time for God to be your guiding light in every storm. ✝️✝️✝️

08/10/2025

We all go through a season of brokenness. We feel as if our world is crumbling around us and there is no way out, and at times, our life may feel unbearable. Being broken is not a pleasant or comforting experience. However, it can drive us deeper into Gods arms. The Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 describes his “thorn in the flesh” and went on to boast over it. He did not try to hide this thorn or feel ashamed of it. He delighted in his weaknesses, hardships, and difficulties. He knew that for Gods power to be more evident and for him to better serve Christ, he was going to find strength through his brokenness. This is an opportunity for Gods grace to shine. So, God responded to Paul by stating “My Grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Spiritual breakdown can often evolve in various ways through emotions, psychosis, spirituality, immoral behaviors or even physical issues. Folks tend to have a sense of disconnection, loss of purpose, or even diminished self worth. We can totally lose our joy in life, having feelings of isolation and loneliness, and our self value sinks. We will even become more susceptible to negative influences and struggle to resist harmful behaviors. There will be no desire to engage in fruitful relationships or activities. However, what is broken in our lives should be a quick reminder that we need grace, and depending on God is the best resource we must have to survive.

Psalm 147:3 reveals to us that “he heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds.” Another words, He is always there to heal our broken hearts and minds. Only God can turn our weakness into strength, hope, and honor. He offers spiritual victory through our breakdowns. This brings about a greater depth and power for us to minister to others. Even the Apostle Paul understood this when he revealed his own weakness. He used his brokenness to be a testimony for God just as we should do.

Testimony in scripture means to witness, declare, or provide evidence. It is a solemn affirmation or declaration made to prove or establish a fact. It is providing the truthfulness of an issue. When we provide people with our testimonies of how God has worked within our lives, this reveals positive qualities of Gods nature, His holiness, His justice, and His goodness. Sharing our testimony is an important part of our Christian faith. Testimonies become powerful tools in which God gets all the glory. It is also a weapon in which we show our victory over the devil through the hands of God. To witness with our testimonies is a very precious gift we can give God because it shows a restorative work in our life. This provides others to hear hope arising out of despair. This allows them to know they can also conquer their own brokenness.

Life is a journey with multiple daily challenges. Our stories are valuable, and each are unique to communicate our faith in Christ and His gift of grace. When we turn to God in faithfulness to heal us, He will embrace us with love and bring healing to our hearts, minds, and bodies. We will no longer carry those wounds, but we will carry those memories to be given as a testimony of His faithfulness. Nothing is impossible for our God. Not even healing our weaknesses and broken spirits. We must train ourselves like the Apostle Paul and find joy in our brokenness for Christ.

So, as we begin a new week on Sunday, we encourage you to visit a local church at 11 a.m. Let others provide their testimony and pray with you. See what God has been doing in their lives, because He does not want you going around broken and alone. He wants each of us to know we are loved and that He is present with us always. And sometimes that is through His people. Make church part of your weekly schedules and watch your healing begin. ✝️✝️✝️
