This past week we finished up with Christmas Ministry 2023. We distributed Christmas gifts in four villages in three days. Three days of blessings and wonderful memories that will stay in our hearts forever. We want to thank everyone who made this year's Christmas Ministry possible for many Tohono O'odham families.

From our family to yours Merry Christmas!

Its been a busy week preparing for our Christmas Ministry. Getting toys and other gifts organized by age group and finally today, decorating the mobile mission trailer. Please pray for us as over the next three days we will be in three communities on the reservation sharing the Gospel and Christmas with the kids and families there.

Preparations have begun for this year's Christmas Ministry. One of the things we hand out to both adults and kids, are the snack bags. Each bag includes, an orange, candy, a Gospel tract and a Little Debbie Christmas tree cake. In year's past, we have had a problem getting enough cakes for our 100 snack bags, so this year we started early. Thankfully, we found all we needed at one store and bought all they had. Please pray that above enjoying the goodies, they will take time to read the tract included and ask us about accepting Christ as their personal Saviour.

Earlier this week, we completed our annualThanksgiving Ministry. This year we delivered Thanksgiving Food boxes to our families in two communities and served a meal to around thirty people at the Recreational Center. We are so thankful to those that gave to this year's ministry and made it possible.

You might have noticed, that we haven’t post much since August. We wanted to give a family update to explain why. In August, Julie began having health issues that made her not only sick but also affected her ability to walk and use her hands. As she primarily handles our social media and our correspondence, most of these activities stopped. The situation also prevented her from helping Billy on the reservation.

Julie was diagnosed with Long Covid with the onset of neuropathy in her hands and feet. As treatment has started, she has improved in both. allowing her to return to helping Billy on the reservation and start back with completing our correspondence and social media.

Through ongoing treatment, her prognosis is good for a full recovery. In that; we give thanks to our Lord. He has worked in this journey in so many ways ,it has been incredible. Please pray for Julie as the doctors continue to work through a wide variety of lingering symptoms that she is still dealing with.

Yesterday we completed our Back to School Ministry 2023. We would like to thank everyone who made this year's events possible. This year we served three communities and had a great turn out in each one. Each student received a backpack of their choice along with notebooks, pencils, folders and more. Remaining supplies will be distributed to a local tribal school. Please join us in praying that each of our kids have a wonderful and safe school year!

Ever had a time when you felt that you had to fight tooth and nail to serve the Lord? That is how it was for us earlier this week when we were trying to make it to our services at the recreational center.

Getting ready to leave our home, we discovered that our hvac thermostat screen was blank. No problem, quickly changed the batteries and it was back on. Unfortunately, the system was not. Billy worked another 30 minutes quickly fixing the problem and we headed out on our way. As our travel there is over 90 minutes, we let everyone know we would be late.

However, when we were about 30 minutes from our destination, we discovered a car on a remote stretch of road. It was 2 ladies who had a flat tire. Thinking this was going to be another quick fix, Billy pulled over to help. After 2 car jacks, many tools, replacing a flat tire with a little less flat spare tire and following the ladies to their village, we were finally on our way.

What a blessing it was to see everyone waiting on us at the recreational center and we were still able to have a short service. Everyone really got a kick out of hearing about our challenges in just getting to them.

The road serving the Lord is not always easy or fun. But it is always a blessing. Please pray for the connection we made with these two ladies. They asked Billy why we were there and he explained along with telling them about the mobile mission trailer we use other days. One of the women spoke up and said “oh the church”. So hopefully we will see them again very soon!
