Light Women’s Ministry at Argyle United Methodist Church would like to invite you to join us at our Spring 2022 overnight retreat. The retreat will take place April 1-3 at Camp Copass in Denton, TX. Participants will stay in a hotel style retreat while experiencing a weekend of renewal, fellowship, worship and study. The theme of our retreat is “Tell My Story.” This is an opportunity to take a look at all of the ways in which childhood, culture, friends and even the church have shaped the narrative of our lives and work to untangle the narrative and get back to the story of God in our lives. We will have special speakers, great small group study, Painting with a Twist and so much more!

All women, ages 13 (or 6th grade) through 105 (or older) are invited to join. Choose a room alone, bring a roommate, or select to be assigned a roommate and make a new friend. Cost includes retreat center, meals, materials and t-shirt! Scholarship is available, contact Pastor Jennifer Stevens for information!

It's hard to be real with other people, and sometimes it's hard for me to be real with You because I think You expect me to have more faith and courage. Help me remember that in my weakness, I can depend on You and Your strength. I want to be so secure in You that, like the apostle Paul, I'm not afraid to admit my weaknesses because I know that's where Your power shows up and Your glory shows off when people see my need for you. Amen"

Today, I want to share a prayer for the women in the Group that might need to hear it....

A Prayer for Discernment

God of hope, shine light in my life.
I am seeking and searching, and I am looking for guidance.
I pray that you will give me ears to hear, eyes to se, and a heart to open to possibilities.
Let me hear your truth in the voices of thee. wise people in my life.
Let me know your truth in my own wisdom.
Keep me from rushing at easy answers, God.
Help me to have patience to wait, to watch, to sit long enough to listen and let the answers unfold before me.
Help me trust my own knowing when the answer makes itself known. Be with me in the waiting and watching, God. Be with me. Amen.
