When you stop leaning into Holy Spirit, anything that isn't life-giving can become your focus. And without wise correction, you don't just overlook it; you justify it.

However, Jesus didn't come simply to forgive sins and leave you struggling. Through His finished work of redemption, Paul said, God made you to be the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and sealed you with His Holy Spirit of Promise.

This is the beauty of the Gospel of the Kingdom: you do not navigate life in your own strength. His Spirit empowers you from the life you've received in Christ. How you might ask? Jesus said, 𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙄 𝙨𝙖𝙮 𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙚𝙨, 𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙙𝙤 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙝 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙩𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪. You find yourself not only desperately searching for answers to "why," but also trying to discover Jesus within certain questions. It feels like you're walking through a space that resembles somewhere within nowhere... numb, shocked, discouraged, and overwhelmed by loneliness.

In those moments, Jesus came and began to walk with them. Initially, He let them talk about everything that happened and what they thought should have happened. In some way, He let them describe Jesus to Jesus. They said, 𝘸𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘏𝘪𝘮.

Welcome to the Emmaus Road. Christ walked with them, yet they couldn't perceive Him. The issue wasn't that Jesus was gone. Their expectations had no category for the form He, as Resurrection, had taken, nor eyes of understanding to see that the Word was fulfilled in the Redemptive Finished Work of Jesus.

Perhaps that's the revelation hiding inside those particular kinds of miles. Not every agonizing step indicates you're walking away from God. Some steps carry you toward a place with and in Him where you will finally recognize Who has been walking with you all along. So, before you call whatever it is over, 𝙏𝙝𝙚 #𝙊𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 #𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 #𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙 holds evolving potential to breathe fresh Hope into your hope again.

And maybe the process you are walking through is that you have yet to reach the table, although you are walking with the Lord and He is walking with you. You may be in the process of evolving, yet again, by being Taken. Blessed. Broken. Given. As Dr. Hanby said, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘣𝘺 𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯.

When you know your origin, are confident in your God-given identity, and are aware of your evolving purpose, you stop allowing an immature, carnal lens to interpret what God is speaking within you. Feeling lost is a perception. Being lost is a position. What if you didn't lose your way? You lost the way you thought it had to be! What transpired didn't derail purpose. It disrupted your definition of it. Paul didn't say renovate the old mind until it behaves. He said, put it off. Put on the mind of Christ. Transformation begins and continues when you stop asking the old Adam to explain the resurrected you. You cannot interpret Resurrection through the mind of the old that died. Holy Spirit reveals the new you... the you God always knew.

It's that God is. As He told Moses, I AM. HE is the Source. You are the yielded resource, carrying His River beyond you.

Dr. Hanby recognizes his own rough edges and cloudy stuff. And most certainly, you can see the wisdom that shifts prayer from Lord, deal with them to… Lord, don't let what I see in them keep me from seeing what You're refining in me. Release any control to force anyone. Intercede for others. Yield to yours. You're not stuck. You're set… and God is still cutting the diamond.

By the conclusion, what if being set for others and being changed yourself were never two different assignments? Cain refused to repent, and he became destructive. Balaam knew the way, yet lacking commitment, he compromised. Korah resisted God’s order, and eventually took him under. Three frogs. Three patterns. Beyond information, Holy Spirit cultivates an evolving understanding of Truth you’ve received.
