Revive your work, oh God.
Pastor Manuel Morales
Habakkuk 3: 1-2
1 Shigionoth tells of this prayer of Habakkuk, the man of God.
2 O Lord, I have heard of what You have done, and I am filled with fear. O Lord, do again in our times the great things which You have done before. Remember to show loving-kindness, even when You are angry.
• It says, “Revive your work ,” not “revive my work .” God’s work is greater and more extensive than ours. First of all, this.
• Second is to pray for “God, revive me . ”
We often blame the church for sin, corruption, laziness, prayerlessness, lack of spiritual power, or whatever—and we forget that we are the church. Pray for personal revival and diligently search within yourself:
• Observe your conduct - does your walk glorify the Lord as it should? What about your private conduct, which only the Lord sees?
• Observe your speech —is your way of speaking profane or impure? Do you talk about Jesus with others?
• Observe your fellowship – are you living a growing life, abiding with Jesus?
• In the midst of the times, make it known : Habakkuk desires that God do this work so that it will be evident to all as God's work. He prays that revival will be made known at a definite time and place ( in the midst of the times ), not just as an idea in someone's head.
◦ The times we live in are of darkness and obscurity.
◦ Difficult times, of uncertainty.
◦ End Times.
• In Sunday's Sermon I will conclude with a text that speaks of a revival in the last days.
Acts 2:17-20
17 God says, 'In the last days I will send My Spirit on all men. Then your sons and daughters will speak God's Word. Your young men will see what God has given them to see. Your old men will dream dreams. 18 Yes, on those I own, both men and women, I will send My Spirit in those days. They will speak God's Word. 19 I will show powerful works in the sky above. There will be things to see in the earth below like blood and fire and clouds of smoke. 20 The sun will turn dark and the moon will turn to blood before the day of the Lord. His coming will be a great and special day.
