Our Family Pastor Carrie Nault is teaching 4th grade science, and one of the things the kids learn is the difference between potential energy and kinetic energy. Think of an engine revving up, but until the car is in gear it's going nowhere. Potential energy. But put the car in gear and vroom! Kinetic energy.

We're waiting for God to convert all the potential energy in The Jar into kinetic energy. Here's how you can pray.

1. First and foremost, we have a couple of candidates for #9 in the building almost every week. Pray that one of them gives his life to Christ. ( #9 would be the ninth person saved by Jesus in The Jar this year.)

2. Pray that God brings fruit from our meeting with three other couples Thursday night. We are discussing laying the ground work for a tiny home community for the chronically homeless.

3. Pray for Michael's ministry in the school and Carrie's ministry in the community as our "other hats" start bringing more people into The Jar.

4. Pray for the planning of our morning gathering that will start on Sunday, January 7th 2024. We also hope to start streaming by then, so we'll let everyone know when they can catch us online.

5. Praise God for the uptick in giving at our weekly gatherings. This month we are averaging about $75/week. Doesn't sound like much, but we were only at about $20/week in March!

6. Praise God that even before a publicity blitz, Michael's book and TV show are doing well. Pray that people's hearts are changed by the message.

7. Family: Pray for wisdom for Anna as she contemplates a move and how God can use her art. Pray for wisdom for Caitlin as she thinks about her career. Pray for Elijah and Nathan that they continue to experience the blessings God is giving them. Pray for Michael & Carrie, too, as they learn patience and God's timing!

Here's our first prayer list! Please join us as we implore our God to act in these situations:

1. Recent tragic events for staff and attenders have saddened and distracted all of us from our mission. Pray for families affected by these incidents (no need to list here) and that we would double down on our desire to bring Christ especially to the northeast side of Ardmore.
2. We are praying for one northeast family to come and try us out and tell others.
3. We have been praying for the last few months for a 15 passenger van and a driver or two to help transport some attenders each Sunday.
4. We have opportunity for a second piece of land with an empty church building diagonally from our current property that could be used as a hub for the neighborhood youth. Pray as we negotiate with owners that they gift us the land or provide it at a discounted cost.
5. Pray for the men's and women's Shield Group that have just started. Shield Groups are the backbone of our disciple-making plan--Watch for an upcoming prayer post that explains how they work.
