Your Eminence, beloved Brother in Christ, Most Reverend Archbishop Daniel,
CHRIST IS RISEN!
With my heart filled with gratitude to Almighty God, on behalf the members of the Council of the Metropolia, the devoted staff of the Archdiocesan Center and all the clergy and faithful of our Holy Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA, together with the clergy and faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the Diaspora – I offer to Your Eminence our most sincere, loving and prayerful greetings on the occasion of two sacred milestones in your life of service to the Church of Christ.
On May 10th, we rejoice in the 18th anniversary of your consecration to the Holy Episcopacy, and on May 12th, we commemorate the 25th anniversary of your ordination to the Holy Priesthood. These anniversaries are not merely dates, but living testimonies to a life wholly offered in sacrifice, obedience and love for the Lord and His Holy Church.
From the moment you first stood before the Holy Altar as a newly ordained priest, to your elevation to the fullness of the priesthood in the episcopacy, your ministry has been marked by a profound pastoral sensitivity, a missionary spirit, and a tireless commitment to bringing Christ into the lives of His people. You have not simply served the Church - you have entered into the hearts of the faithful, meeting them in their joys and sorrows, guiding them toward the light of Christ with gentleness, wisdom and unwavering faith.
As President of the Consistory and Academic Dean of St. Sophia Ukrainian Orthodox Theological Seminary, your leadership has borne abundant spiritual fruit. Through your vision and dedication, generations of clergy and faithful have been formed, inspired and strengthened in their calling to serve God and neighbor. Your ministry reflects the words of Saint John Chrysostom, who reminds us: “The priestly office is indeed discharged on earth, but it ranks among heavenly ordinances; for neither man nor angel nor archangel nor any other created power, but the Holy Spirit instituted this vocation.” In your life, we see this heavenly calling lived with authenticity and grace.
Likewise, we recall the words of Saint Gregory the Theologian, who wrote: “We must first be purified before purifying others; we must be instructed to be able to instruct; become light to enlighten, draw near to God to bring others near.” Your Eminence, your life of prayer, humility, and devotion has indeed made you such a light - drawing countless souls closer to Christ and His Holy Church.
In a world often marked by division and uncertainty, your loving-kindness, your openness to all and your willingness to reach deeply into the lives of others - precisely where the spiritual need is greatest - stand as a powerful witness to the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. You have shown us what it means to be a true shepherd: one who knows his flock, walks with them and lays down his life in service to their salvation.
We are especially moved by your profound humility, demonstrated in your heartfelt desire that these anniversaries not be marked by grand celebrations, but rather observed with sobriety and prayer, mindful of the immense suffering of our brothers and sisters in Ukraine. In this, you embody the very heart of Christ, who calls us to bear one another’s burdens and to place the needs of others above our own joy. Your example teaches us that true greatness in the Church is found not in honor, but in sacrificial love.
Be assured, Your Eminence, that while external celebrations may be deferred, the prayers of your spiritual family are fervent and unceasing. We thank God for the gift of your life, your ministry and your unwavering dedication to the service of Christ and His people.
May the Lord grant you many blessed years! May He strengthen you with His Divine Grace, renew your spirit with heavenly joy and reward you abundantly - not only with the blessings of this world, but with the eternal crown prepared for His faithful servants.

Високопреосвященніший Архієпископе Даниїле,

Із серцем, сповненим вдячності Всемогутньому Богові, - від імені членів Ради Митрополії, відданого персоналу Центру митрополії, а також усього духовенства і вірних нашої Святої Української Православної Церкви США, разом із духовенством і вірними Української Православної Церкви в діаспорі - складаю Вашому Високопреосвященству наші найщиріші, сповнені любові та молитви вітання з нагоди двох священних ювілеїв у Вашому житті служіння Христовій Церкві.
10 травня ми радісно відзначаємо 18-ту річницю Вашої архієрейської хіротонії, а 12 травня - 25-ту річницю Вашої ієрейської хіротонії. Ці дати є не лише історичними позначками, але живими свідченнями життя, цілковито принесеного в жертву, послух і любов до Господа і Його Святої Церкви.
Від тієї миті, коли Ви вперше стали перед Святим Престолом як нововисвячений священник, і до піднесення до повноти священства в архієрейському служінні, Ваше служіння позначене глибокою пастирською чуйністю, місіонерським духом і невтомною відданістю принесенню Христа в життя Його людей. Ви не лише служите Церкві - Ви входите в серця вірних, зустрічаючи їх у радощах і скорботах, провадячи їх до світла Христового з лагідністю, мудрістю та непохитною вірою.
Як Президент Консисторії та Академічний Декан Свято-Софійської Української Православної Богословської Семінарії, Ваше провідництво принесло рясні духовні плоди. Завдяки Вашому баченню та відданості формуються, надихаються і зміцнюються покоління духовенства і вірних у своєму покликанні служити Богові і ближньому. Ваше служіння відображає слова святителя Іоана Золотоустого: «Священство звершується на землі, але належить до небесних установлень; бо не людина, не ангел, не архангел і жодна інша створена сила, але Сам Утішитель установив це служіння». У Вашому житті ми бачимо це небесне покликання, прожите з правдивістю і благодаттю.
Також пригадуємо слова святителя Григорія Богослова: «Треба спершу очиститися, щоб очищати інших; навчитися, щоб навчати; стати світлом, щоб просвічувати; наблизитися до Бога, щоб інших привести до Нього». Ваше Високопреосвященство, Ваше життя молитви, смирення і відданості справді зробило Вас таким світлом — приводячи незліченні душі ближче до Христа і Його Святої Церкви.
У світі, часто позначеному поділами і невпевненістю, Ваша любов, відкритість до всіх і готовність проникати в глибини людських життів - саме там, де духовна потреба є найбільшою - є потужним свідченням Євангелія Господа нашого Ісуса Христа. Ви показали нам, що означає бути істинним пастирем: тим, хто знає свою паству, іде поруч із нею і віддає своє життя задля її спасіння.
Особливо зворушує нас Ваша глибока покора, виявлена у Вашому щирому бажанні, щоб ці ювілеї не відзначалися великими святкуваннями, але проходили у стриманості й молитві, пам’ятаючи про велике страждання наших братів і сестер в Україні. У цьому Ви являєте саме серце Христа, Який закликає нас носити тягарі один одного і ставити потреби інших понад власну радість. Ваш приклад навчає нас, що справжня велич у Церкві полягає не в почестях, а в жертовній любові.
Будьте певні, Ваше Високопреосвященство, що хоча зовнішні святкування можуть бути відкладені, молитви Вашої духовної родини є щирими і невпинними. Ми дякуємо Богові за дар Вашого життя, Вашого служіння і Вашої непохитної відданості служінню Христові та Його людям.
Нехай Господь дарує Вам многії і благії літа! Нехай укріпить Вас Своєю Божественною благодаттю, оновить Ваш дух небесною радістю і щедро винагородить Вас - не лише благами цього світу, але й вічним вінцем, приготованим для Його вірних слуг.
