This Sunday, September 13, 10:15am CDT - Water Communion at Pilgrim House and via Zoom

Time to re-gather from our summer break as we reimagine this annual tradition. If you like, bring a small container of water that represents your summer (a pitcher of water will also be provided). Through the metaphor of water, we recognize that life can be stormy or sparkling, still or rushing. And sometimes, it can be all of those things at once. With special music from Deb Magnuson, Lollie Jensen and Rev. Leslie Mills will be facilitating this ingathering service, bringing us back together from the four directions with story, poetry, and song.

The Pilgrim House driveway is in the midst of a construction zone these days -- but it is indeed open! You may encounter some temporary "ramps" between paved areas, but simply approach as slowly as traffic will allow, enter the driveway, and come on in!

The Mooncoin Ceili Dancers (1976-2026) will be demonstrating and teaching some Irish social dances. Mooncoin has done more than 400 performances over the past 50 years, in multiple states in the US, and in Ireland, including several performances at Pilgrim House. Mooncoin currently has three PH members performing with the group. We invite attendees to bring your dancing shoes and join us in some easy Irish social dances.

This Sunday, May 31, 10:15am CDT - Flower Communion and Annual Meeting at Pilgrim House and via Zoom

Bring flowers from your garden to add to the fellowship bouquet, reflecting the beauty of our diversity and what each of us individually brings to it. Take home a flower from the fellowship bouquet representing what the fellowship gives back to each of us. The Flower Celebration as it is celebrated today by Unitarian Universalist Congregation was initiated in Prague on 4 June 1923 by Norbert Čapek, who was also the founder of the Unitarian Church in Czechoslovakia. He turned to the beauty of nature and had a communion of flowers. This will be a short program followed by the Pilgrim House Annual Meeting and lunch.

This Sunday, May 3, 10:15am CDT - Rev. Leslie Mills – Stillness in the Storm

We’ve covered a lot of ground exploring “Activism in an Age of Compassion Fatigue” this year, from broad-level politics to conversations close to home. To wrap up, we’ll review some highlights and try a few new practices to support us in what lies ahead.

Soup Sunday follows the program.

This Sunday, April 26,10:15am CDT - Encountering Others: A Trans Theology of Solidarity at Pilgrim House and via Zoom

Amid escalating anti-trans political and religious violence, many people are seeking deeper understanding of transgender lives and experiences in an effort to strengthen their advocacy and allyship. In this program, First Universalist Trans Community Minister Seth Anderson-Matz (he/him) offers a theological framework for approaching trans solidarity as relational as opposed to conceptual, illuminating the wisdom embodied in trans life to invite reflection on our own experiences of gender.
