🕊️ Remembering & Praying Together

Today marks the 25th anniversary of Patriot Day. As we pause to remember the lives lost and the incredible bravery of the first responders on September 11, 2001, we find our strength in community and faith.

In moments of reflection, we are reminded of Psalm 46:1: "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

"Let’s wrap our community, our nation, and our world in prayer today. We pray for comfort for grieving families, strength for our frontline workers, and a deep, lasting peace in our hearts.

👇 Leave a prayer or a message of peace in the comments below. Let's lift each other up.

Remember that God can use us in ALL the different seasons of life. Big things, little things, sad things, happy things....
What has He been laying on your heart?

Anything we place in the hands of our God will never, ever truly be gone. We can feel afraid of loss and grief and sacrifice and disappointment and getting our hearts broken and trusting Him when it makes no sense to us at all. But we don’t have to stay afraid.

There’s a verse I love to bring to mind when I think about placing things in God’s hands: “‘Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?’ declares the Lᴏʀᴅ. ‘These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word’” (Isaiah 66:2).

How powerful God’s hands are. His hands restore and wipe tears and hold His people with love and care.

He can turn loss into purpose. He can turn grief into healing. He can turn sacrifice into gifts we are delighted to give up. He can take our disappointments and turn them into peaceful perspectives. He can turn broken hearts into a deeper sense of being loved by God Himself. He gives such favor to those who humbly trust Him because they are so moved by His Word.

And I want to be that girl.

Is there anything God has been nudging you to do that you keep hesitating to follow through on?

We all have had disagreements. Most of us have been in meetings and churches when disagreements seem to take over.

How can we face conflict and maintain community? What might we do or say differently if we are in the community only for a season? Does it matter whether or not we are called into the community to participate in resolving the conflict?

We’ll look at these and related questions together, including with Friends who have embraced a call to public ministry.

Who else can agree with Matthew West on this song? We don't deserve His love, but He STILL loves us because He's so good ❤
