Founded by Rev. Asa White in 1850, the first church in Arcata was a blue canvas tent pitched at Eighth and G Streets. White’s first sermon was preached July 4th on the Plaza. The Methodist Society founded that day erected its first building on the corner of Ninth and H. As the church grew, it moved to Twelfth and H, and finally, in 1961, to its present

location at 1761 Eleventh Street.

Starting this Sunday, October 12th, our Sunday service time will be changed to 10:30am! We will gather for hymn singing, prayers of the people, and the offertory before Catalyst Church arrives to share our worship space. Hope you can join us as we follow Jesus Christ together!
